Title: Red, White and Blue Open = Carry Contest
Post by: Wilbert on December 09, 2009, 11:56:54 AM
So far the lastest PBA tournament is carry contest.  After 16 games leading is Cassidy Schaub with a 257 ave.  24th place avg is 239. Wes Malot makes the 16 game cut in 39th with a 235 avg.  90th place out of 119 bowlers is averaging 219.  Even Carmen Salvino at 114th place is averaging 200.

What did you expect lol? They are varying difficulty HOUSE SHOTS lol. Red of course meant to be the easiest. The Blue the hardest, which my guess would be right on par for the Kegel Challenge Patterns in terms of difficulty. Give the pros that kind of shot and of course they will score high on it. The whole WSOB was pretty brutal and they all should be pretty sharp before they got to this tournament. NO harm meant .

Is it suppose to be 3 different house shots or 3 shots of varying difficulty?  If it is 3 house shots I can understand it.  It is 3 PBA type shots then this should not be happening.

Were people not just whining because no one was scoring? now people are scoring and people are still whining

I haven't seen any of the matches yet but no whining here. As I predicted, the Pros do not necessarily have an advantage bowling on THS welcome to our world

This is the time you need to direct your league bowlers that think they are PBA level with thier 215 averages to watch.  They will see what the best in the world do with thier Friday night house shot.

This tourney is doing exactly what it was expected to do.

What a joke. 15 of the top 24 are left handed seveal are local rags.

Easy symetrical pattern. Everyone starts with the world and the lefties keep it. PBA warned the usbc but they stuck to the patterns.

Machuga bowled fantastic and still couldnt keep pace.

Those 115-119 finishers are getting a real dose of reality.....  Easiest pattern(s) of the year....not averaging deuce must be rough.

Woody Austin was next to last. Nice to see an athlete from another sport showing interest in bowling.

It's well documented that USBC is run by a bunch of idiots...this is just another shining example of how out of touch their organization is with what bowlers actually deal with.

Greg, I think Timmy Mack is around 30th in points through 7 events.  Not sure how he's doing this week so far though.

A half ten is not a great shot.  No, you shouldn't have carried it.

tim mack finished 63rd in qualifying and failed to cash. pete weber finished 66th and also failed to cash. it appears jason belmonte didn't enter this tournament.

Belmo stayed in AUS with his wife, they are expecting a baby. Would have loved to see what he would have done to these house shot patterns.

Belmo can do some amazing things to a bowling ball.

But as you can tell, no matter the condition, look who always rises to the top, that Walter guy. That dude is always up there.

Him and that "Big Nasty" guy.  Those 2 always seem to be up there. I can see these 2 battling it out for POY this season.

i've said this before and it bears repeating again. even at 50 years old you can count on walter ray williams, jr., to be a threat to win any tournament he enters.

He was jammin the patterns until the last game of the cashers round where he bowled a 190 and dropped himself from I think 21st to 27th and out of the cut.

Surprised that no one has mentioned this yet regarding WRW in this tournament, he bowled 3 190+ games to end the blue pattern match play and got lucky to make it to TV, because after WRW was already done with his game, Big Wes opened twice in the 8th and 9th of the final game of match play to leave WRW in the TV show.
