and who says that u are a good bowler just if u average on pba conditions...have u heard about a guy named tim mack...hes probably the most (and i mean it) talented player in the world
i bowl against him in the fiq world cup on malaysia and he was averagin 228 playing 25 in the arrows to 2 in the breakpoint (45 feet)...and because one straighty from sweden was averaging 230+ playing straight for the gutter...he moves to play straight just like the other one and start averaging 245...and have u see him bowl on sunday tv????no..he didnt even make it on trials
and i promess u that he is an idol in all asia...he can not walk in a shoping without somebody ask him for an autograph...and so...he is not a great bowler because he can not average on pba conditions???
i dont think so

Well, Rev-O is doing much better the last 5 games........averaged 202 for those 5. I'm sure that the 130+ and 140+ was nerves/getting used to the shot/atmosphere etc. I look for him to bowl great the second block. I'm sure he wished he had those first 2 games back.........Great recovery Steve! Keep it up!

Man......rough crowd here...

So nobody has had a bad day???

Felt a bit of nerves bowling your first big tourney???

Funny how people want to jump to conclusions about Rev being a house bowler.....not having right equipment...etc....

I have averaged 240 on PBA pattern one day....180 on a THS the next.....does this make me a great/bad bowler??

One tourney....9 games...don't really show a whole lot....other than people on here are really quick to jump on people..;-)

my 2 cents worth..;-)

It's not the equipment he's using , Doug Wilcox is on Track's Regional Staff and he's doing just fine. Pattern E is very playable if you just stay outside 10 board and make adjustments with equipment, ball speed, etc.

what srlunatic said.

all you arm chair bowlers had better let the rest of us know when you are shooting a PBA event. I can't wait to see all that know how on a score sheet!
man you guy would lead the rest of the field by +300.

seriously, come on!

It would be one thing if one of us house hacks were to go to a PTQ and fall flat.  It's another thing altogether to see this happen to someone who has been known to post his accomplishments while "not meaning to toot his own horn."  No disrespect to Mr. Nagy intended, but we all *had* to expect that we'd see some backlash here on the forum.

All I am saying is that you can't just walk into a new environment and big the top dog. you have to cut your teeth all over again.

this applies to many things other than bowling. and I don't think anyone needs to mock him or rub in his face. maybe he thought that it was a bit more friendly here and could share some feats with people who understand.

I don't recall him answering anybody's else post of greatness with "well so what I did this yada yada..."

just maybe the jealous have more to say sitting on a couch. I would not jump on his band wagon either way. but you have to credit where credit is due and recognize the hard task it is to move to a new pond where you are not the big fish.

as I said I see this in all forms of life. ever see a company change it's focus and maybe sell some new product and drop an old one. people with 20 yrs experience with a certain widget will move to a new company instead of throwing specific knowledge on the scrap heap and start over.

that is what his doing. nothing but shooting on PBA events will prepare you for PBA events. reading lanes is no where close to the same things.

I know a bowler who has a phonon but can't make the cut( in the post urethane era) because he doesn’t read the lanes right. In the squad  before me he told me they were tight and speed sensitive. he was going with forward roll and up the boards- 2nd arrow. other lefty's were swinging across 3rd and 4th arrow out to 10 at the breakpoint with room!. he shot low 2's and they shot 230's. this guy has all the skills in the world except the humility to seek a great coach.

so to sum up. give the guy a break. wait until a couple of years of failure before you condemn him to be a house hack.
