How much does one pin matter sometimes?

Check this out:

30. Mike Edwards 3075
31. Brian Himmler 3074
32. Brian LeClair 3073

33. Ritchie Allen 3072

By the way, Allen shot 174 in his last game to land there. OUCH.

At the other (upper) end of the spectrum, Pete Weber has apparently gone nuclear; averaged 253.14 for 14 games and finished with a ho-hum 280. Shot 1829 for his last 7. Barnes was a full 118 pins behind in second place and then it drops off another 47 pins to third (Patrick Allen). JEEZ.

I REALLY think Pete is gunna do great this week, he took last week (2 weeks ago) off and he has had a pretty quiet season, expect to see him on the show if he keeps up this pace!

Pete Weber is one sick human being.  NO ONE bowls like that.  SICK!  One game under 250 in block 2.  SICK!

Im really curious how the lanes are playing....Pete rarely bowls well on the cheetah.  His ball roll tends to give him over/under...

the interesting thing about this new format is that you can do great in qualifying and yet lose out early friday morning.

Alot of guys including Pete were playing in this morning on this pattern. Pete had  a ridiculous amount of room on the lane all day.

It won't be so bad this week, though. They go to round-robin match play tomorrow instead of the head-to-head Round of 32 bracket. I doubt anyone will catch Weber or Barnes. Allen is on the bubble and the 4 and 5 guys are vulnerable.

for a synthetic surface, the lanes at babylon are rather soft, so there is plenty of friction. the place hooks. a couple of guys where using plastic during the ptq, one a cg axis blue hammer. should be an interesting day there tomorrow.

Lemme guess on the axis weighted blue hammer....Lee Vanderhoef?

He has a bunch of those that he pulls out from time to time.  He is ridiculous with those balls...lol.

Just a bit... I had the pleasure of crossing with Vanderstrap and "Buzzsaw" John Gant at a Tour stop when Lee was a rookie. I don't get as many RPM's in one GAME as either of them do in one SHOT. It was fun to watch their messengers flying across the deck, though.
