RIP Mr. Tony Reyes

According to Ebonites facebook page Tony Reyes passed away in a car accident. Sad news for sure.

I always loved watching him bowl and he had such a great personality.

I talked to him for over an hour a few years ago the night before a distributors new product show case.

Forget bowling, he was one of the nicest persons I have ever met period.

The game has lost another "Great One"

The bowling world lost one of the nicest guys and best personalities today in Tony Reyes.  May he rest in peace with the great ones in the huge bowling alley up above.  Condolences go out to his wife Nicole, his 1 year old daughter Gianna, and the rest of his family.

I can't believe this happened. I just had a leasson with him down at 4th street bowl last month.... Im still going throught the list of adjustments he wrote out for me to help me with my game... I am honored to have worked with such a great man and bowler.

That's a damn shame.I never had the opportunity to meet Tony,however he seemed like a nice young man in his tv interviews.My condolences to his family.

Very, very sad.

 I drilled his equipment for many years and remember when his mother brought him into my pro shop in San Jose when he was 10-12 years old and he told me he wanted to become a pro bowler.

I had the good fortune to cross pairs with Tony at a regional once.  I saw firsthand what everyone is talking about as far as his personality and his overall nice character.  I'll always cherish that memory.

May Tony rest in eternal peace.

I was warming up on one of my leagues on Wednesday when my local bowling paper that someone left in the pit area caught my eye. While standing in line to bowl my jaw dropped and said "wtf Tony Reyes is dead?"
I remember his first tv show in the late 90's where no one knew him on the tour and almost won. My best remembrance of Tony was January of 2002 in Dallas. Was the only televised pba technical title event I've been too after watching the entire tournament. I told my wife then girlfriend which I took after the day before watching him in match play and qualifying he was going to win. Sunday was during the superbowl that was the Rams ans Patriots and Reyes came warming up in a Raiders polo. He struggled on the even super tighter then the day before sport shot and lost to Ritchie Allen who would then beat Rick Steelsmith for the title...a huge upset and underdog however the proprietor of the house predicted he was going to win.
After that never believed he would win a tournament but proved me wrong shooting a 300 on tv in 2006 in Detroit and winning his solo title. I can remember some other memories of him in Dallas in qualifying him and Robert Smith good friends and conversing with each other and smiling which he always did.
