After reading the article I guess this isn't the guy that was doing the show with Randy this summer?

Hopefully no more calling Walter Ray Williams the "King of the Lanes", OR "Major Mika" for Mika Koivuniemi, or any other corny lines.  I would like to see them get more in depth about bowling ball surfaces and layouts like on the PWBA U.S. Open telecasts from the past month.

Awesome, someone new for all the nitpickers to complain about.

Prediction - by week three we will have a thread commenting on how much Rob Stone sucks

Rob Stone primarly has done soccer games and highlight shows and a little college football sideline reporting.  He's also randomly mentioned (under the nickname Stoner) by ESPN.com Page 2's Bill Simmons in his articles quite frequently as they have been good friends for years.  From what I've seen, Stone is pretty good.  We'll see if that translates over to bowling, however...

ESPN should pay for him to join a bowling league on Monday or Tuesday nights so he can actually learn about bowling.  If it takes him less than four years to learn about the game, he'll be ahead of Dud Ryan.

I loved "60 Feet to Success." It was so goofy sounding -- it makes us all start laughing and start our Dave Ryan imitations. Damn, I'll miss DR.

No matter what, it should at least be better than the week Joe Tessitore filled in for Dave Ryan.  Tessitore is a great boxing commentator, but man...  That was just brutal.  He doesn't know anything about bowling.  You could practically hear Randy Pederson's dumbfounded amazement at how clueless Tessitore was on that show.

I'm defending Pederson. I think he is great. He seems to me to have had some very bad chemistry with Ryan. I did not see with with Thulin and Kelly. I think Pederson and whoever this Stone guy is will be much, much better then Dave Ryan.

One of my favorite Ryan-isms was the "paralyzing 5 pin"!
