imo if he doesnt take a year or two completely off his career is over. if he can only bowl a few full events at age 30 whatever then he needs to take time off and fully heal. then get his game back in a healthy way. even if he doesnt get all his power back he will still be more powerful than half the guys on tour

It's really sad that Robert can't compete at the high level that he's used to. He is truly one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet and he really cares about his fans.

Robert is coolest pro there is, he is friendly personable and real which is what makes him that way.

What is funny in person he is smooth as silk, i do not see the stress everyone talks about on his body. But he is big guy naturally and I know personally how it is to be stiff as he11, it is cold for Vegas and last night my back tightened up after lane problems and finished the night crappy.

Robert Smith will go down as a legend in bowling.  He was competing in the $250,000 USBC Masters in 1992 at the age of 18.  The power of his revs and his technique are epic.  Hopefully he can win a few more titles and go down as one of the greatest bowlers to ever live.  He is truly a physical masterpiece!

Just because he can hook it more than anyone on tour doesn't mean he should go down as one of the greatest bowlers to ever live.

He was probably the best 18 year old bowler to ever live though.

Best 18 year old bowler was Norm Duke, I believe it was a major but not positive about that either.

Duke is still one of the top 2-3 guys of all time and came out on tour with a Bang.

Sorry but Robert should go down in history, not for his power, but for his ability to play every where.  Remember his last title in Chicago when he lofted the gutter!!! SICK SICK Never saw WRW or Duke do that. No offense to them

Are you kidding me? Norm Duke is probably the most versatile bowler on tour and maybe the world. They dont loft the gutter cap because they dont have to. And his ability to play every where? I have only seen him on one show not hooking it alot.

Ok was not trying to make take anything from Duke or WRW.  If I remember that week Duke didnt make the show so maybe if he had the ability to loft the gutter he would have.  All Im saying is Robert Smith is able to play the whole lane.  Yes he was know for hooking the ball but I can think of about three times he played pretty straight on the lanes and one of those times he won a US OPEN!!!

How many shows has Smith made? How many titles does he have? Maybe if he was more versatile he would have more of both. Just because he can loft the gutter cap when he needs to doesnt mean he should go down in history. Duke can play from the 1 board to the 7th arrow with no problems. I have never seen Robert play right of about 5.

Ok Stop comparing Robert Smith overall to Norm Duke, Norm Duke is better and always has been.  Robert Smith can Play the lanes where giving not as well as Duke or WRW but he can.  I think Robert Smith should go into the History.  He has eight titles including a Major.  He is not going to go into History for his power or hooking, but his accomplishments!!!!
