quote:
Bowlers should note that the 2006-07 season will feature two different standard event formats. The single-elimination match play format will be used during 11 standard events, while five events will feature a round robin match play format. Cities which will host round robin events in 2006-07 are Taylor, Mich.; Vernon Hills, Ill.; West Babylon, N.Y.; Council Bluffs, Ia.; and Indianapolis, Ind.

this is the way professional bowling was meant to be. the best format that resulted in the cream of the crop appearing on the telecast was:

everybody bowl 18 games of qualifying, consisting of three(3) six-game blocks.

the top 24 bowl 24 games of matchplay.

the top five make it to the telecast.
