Title: Rudy Revs in GA
Post by: Scolai on February 02, 2006, 04:53:22 AM
After 6 games of qualifying, Rudy is in 2nd place.  I think he may have figured something out.  Of course, there are still 8 more games before the top 32 are set.  We'll keep you posted on the progress of this oft-criticized PBA member.

Well, Rudy finally managed to make a cut.  We'll see how he handles match play today.  I'm not sure he's made a cut yet this season, so this will be a rather new experience for all of us.

He's tied with Ritchie at 1 game apiece.  Rudy shot 240's in game 2.

I'm keeping this match on my desktop to see what happens.

Whoops!  Guess who *cough*rudy*cough* just chunked a gutter ball in the 7th frame of game 3 and rendered the spare in the 6th valueless?

Of course, Ritchie ain't 'zactly laying down the smack either.  Interesting game so far.

Whoa!  Ritchie opens in the 10th, leaving the door wide open for Rudy to take a 2 games to 1 lead.

Rudy apparently accepted the invitation and won the game - 190-174.

Rudy's up 2-1.

PBA - Livescoring.

You don't see the bowlers, just the scores.

Helps a bit, though.

Ritchie could do himself a favor and strike out this game.

I'm not hopeful, tho.

Yep.  Looks like we'll have a little longer to enjoy the progress of Mr. Revs.  However, let us not forget the Ritchie is already exempt for 2006-07, so Rudy needs to make sure he keeps forward momentum in his favor for the sake of next year.

Updates on some others:

Patrick Allen is about to put Collins to bed.  Collins, whom I esteem as an acquaintance, has again allowed his brain to engage while bowling and has missed 7 spare attempts.  Granted some of those might be splits, but completely flagging spares for zero count is not always accidental with Chris, who gets terribly bent out of shape whenever he doesn't strike.

Everyone else has at least another game left.  We'll see where this goes.  Right now I'm pulling hard for Michael Fagan.

It's pretty weird how a PBA bowler who hasn't won in a while is getting more conversation time than the others.  I guess Lane #1 just IS that controversial.

The PBA website designer decided not to change the mouse rollover when you click a match.  It's just really poor design.  If you click on the live scoring tab and click on any of the names bowling, it will take you to their "actual" frame by frame scoring.

He just opened in the 9th in game 4.  He all but gave the game to Kent.

Too much pressure, I think.

At least he's working in the 10th.  Kent has to double and get count.

Now I'm waiting for the mezz to come out after everyone jumped on him and said "Where are you now?" as if qualifying means Rudy wouldn't go down....

Oh well, another valiant effort.  He's getting closer though, at this rate he'll be on the show before the end of the season.  Then everyone on here will be doing backflips while mezz's head explodes.
