Who's your pick to win the US Open?
« on: March 21, 2008, 11:49:00 AM »
Just want to see who thinks who has what it takes to win the open?  Maybe a non-exempt player might take it home this year?  Anyway, I think Mike Wolfe is a sleeper.  Solid player and can play in, where the open always does.

You just can't bet against PDW in the U.S. Open. You'd be stupid to do so. However, I'd love to see PB3 win another major.

Gotta give my nod to Ole Crotch Chop himself! He has no wins this year and is very focused. Plus, as stated before, he just kills the flat US Open pattern. Gotta say PDW.

i have to give a shot at picking Jason Belmonte with the round robin format, he's good to make match play and make a run up the field..but you can't count out Weber, this seems to be his major

Weber. Especially because he made TV this week. Whether or not he wins this week, he has bowled well, ans he'll either ride a wave of confidence following a win, or be a bit more focused after making the finals and losing. Plus he's historically good in majors. Thos factors together make him my pick.

The last time we saw a lefty in top 5 at the US Open was 3 years back with PA losing to Barnes in the title match.  Since then, the left side hasn't faired well  at the Open. With that being said, usually that means a lefty is due to make it through, which if I wanted to bet on a lefty, my money would be on PA who has been absent from TV since making 4 shows in a row.

Can't count out the obvious members of the Wrong way club in PB3 and Rhino.
