Title: Scoring Messup at the Chameleon Championship
Post by: BowlerKidR on November 14, 2008, 12:26:34 PM
The official scorer screwed up in the position round of the Chameleon Championship! Im watching the live feed on Xtra Frame and the official scorer had Eugene McCune's score wrong, giving him 20+ pins over what he should have gotten, and this was realized into the 8th frame, and now two of the matches have been restarted.

Dont know what the deal is as to how this happened, but Sean Rash now has a chance to make it to the telecast. He was bowling real bad before the score error was realized and now he gets to start over and has to shoot 255+ to make the telecast. I dont see how this is fair for the person who gets bumped out if Rash shoots that 255 but we will see what happens.

Just to keep you all updated...Rash is on his way to that 255 he has front 3 already, and mind you he is playing left of 5th arrow, as was everyone else.

He was cussing at the tourney director too.  The error helped him.  He is a POS.  What a classless jerk

Im pretty sure everyone was cursing but its because mess ups like this are NOT supposed to happen. If I were him id be ready to curse but I'm not him.

He has got the front 5 now!

Props to DeVaney for sticking it to Rash though: x 9/ x x x

This for sure is a black mark for the PBA. The guys bowl their arses off and think they made the show and now 1 or 2 guys are going to get kicked off, that's wrong, very wrong.. They should have left it alone or put 5 on the show, something other than what they did..

PS: I also agree, Rash is a jerk.. I was very happy when I saw he was not on the show..

Prepare for it, Front 6

Machuga is getting the short end of the stick...he bowled VERY well this week and now he doesnt even have a clue whats going to happen. Id be ripping my hair out if i was him sitting back and watching Rash kill the pins. Again though, credit to Rash from bowling like garbage to now, FRONT 7 on the same pair

It's not even remotely fair, because Chuga had to know around 5 frames in he was locked in the show. He throws a few inconsequential frames, then after the first ball in the 10th they tell him the last 4 behind him get a do-over because they couldn't figure out a score mistake during the 15 minutes between matches.

So sick.

Edit: Top 5 stepladder, good call PBA.

Machuga was screwed. I would have so much rather seen him on TV than Rash..

I'm sure the pba telecast will enlighten us all into what has occurred in the previous 1hr.

How can you discount his 256 game??? He was granted a reprieve and took full advantage of the situation.  Having to know what you need to shoot then willing yourself to do it...that is clutch.

Now the PBA did the right thing here.. Top 5 was the only way to get this one right even though Rash got lucky and got a second chance.. No doubt he bowled well but he should not of had that chance..

Not discounting it, it was a great game, but he had 5 min of practice, 8 frames, another 5 min of practice on that pair.  Any pro would have had the shot figured by then and did well.  Were you watching?  He tripped like 3 5 pins, crossed over, and left a 2 pin on what could have easily been a 2-10 split.

Good for him he took advantage of a break he never should have gotten.  At least they didn't screw Machuga.

KRakken, not sure what match you were watching....Rash didn't "trip" three 5 pins.  They were light hits and he slapped the pins around.  Definitely not bad shots.  Its not like he had a 5-7 standing and a pin came across and took both out.

Just because you have 5 mins of practice, then bowl 8 frames, and then 5 more mins of practice....that doesn't mean you will shoot 256 when u need it.

Delutz only shot 220 and he bowled on the same pair as the previous game.

Great bowling by Rash to make TV, and great decision by the PBA to make it a 5 man step ladder.

Needless to say most of the PBA bowlers were ver upset about the whole thing. However, to them it was just another week, they made it sound like this kind of thing is happening every week. The bowlers from what I heard definitly didn'tseem surprised or very pleased with the way the PBA is ran every week.

You must not have watched the match that he was bowling before because he was hitting the pocket every shot, he just kept 10 pinning.

I did watch and 10 pins were not the only thing he was leaving.. And I didn't know that made you clutch if all you did is stay in the pocket and not strike

When the 5 pin is the last pin to fall, that is a trip 5 pin, and a very light hit, that indicates his ball wasn't driving though the deck. I was watching the match without the rose colored glasses that you were watching it with.

No all that practice doesn't mean he would shoot 256, he did a good job getting what he needed but he didn't bowl "great" as some are sayin
