Title: Scoring records
Post by: shelley on November 15, 2006, 02:08:38 PM
I don't really expect anyone to know this for sure (I don't know either).  The highest losing score on TV is 280, shot by Duke against Brian Goebel, who shot 296.  Steve Jaros has the lowest score on TV, a 129, and is tied with 16 others for the highest with 300.  There have been two 300-279 matches, Learn-Petraglia and Aulby-Ozio, for the highest combined score on TV.  That's all listed in the ]url="http://pba.com/news/features.asp?ID=2572"]PBA Scoring Records [/url] page.

But what is the lowest winning score on TV?  Title match or otherwise?  I read in Bowling Execution that Amleto won pointing it off the corner on some really brutal conditions with something in the 160s (?).  But I don't know if that's the lowest winning score or not.  Anyone know?  Like Jaros' 129, it's not necessarily something to be proud of, but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere.

Dennis Jacques 157 should be the record, see this story http://www.pba.com/results/archives_detailed.asp?ID=851

Wow.  157-156.  That's 313 for the two of them.  If ever there was a time for a house hack to stand up and say "Shoot, I can beat that!", that's it.
