seen Dave Ozio bowl today!
« on: August 05, 2007, 07:47:47 AM »
I was at my league meeting today at Rolling Lanes in Countryside, IL.  There was a Sr. regional event going on.  I got a chance to see none other than Dave Ozio!  It was awesome watching this guy bowl.  His form is THE best i've ever seen!  I think he ended up 3rd in the event.  One bad shot cost him a chance at the finals.

I just wanted to share this with you guys.  If you ever get a chance to watch Dave Ozio bowl, do it!

Side note:  He was using 2 strike balls plus a spare.  The pearl ball looked to be a fired up.  I couldn't see what dull ball he was using.  I did notice the pin was a little below and next to the ring.  Cg was kicked right and balance hole.  It look to be the same layout on both balls.

either david ozio or brian voss has the best form you'll ever see in a bowling center.

I would agree with that!  Most of the crowd today was watching Ozio.  It's fun to watch excellence in action.

Smoothest form I've seen has to be Mika the Big Finn. His form is so simple, but yet allows him to score on a variety of patterns.

Don't forget Dave Davis the great lefty that Parker Bohn is almost a clone of.

I may like Dave's double D's form better.  What pure free speed...(no effort).

Ozio,Voss and Bohn are the most fun for me to watch.  I am talking about in terms of form and I really like watching bowlers with good form as opposed to who can hook the ball more that day.

A guy who doesn't get mentioned alot in this discussion is Mike Aulby.  I bowled a couple of Pro-Am's when I was a younger hack and thought those were the be-all end-all of bowling.

That man is smooooooth.  Maybe not as much so as Mr. Ozio and Mr. Voss, but he is somewhat overlooked in this discussion.

I share the same thoughts about Mike Aulby.  The guy had one of the smoothest deliveries.  He made it look effortless when he threw the ball.  I think that PB3 has the smoothest deliveries of all the pros currently on tour.

I definitely want learn how to play Ozio's twig shot.

I saw David Ozio in action when the GBT was in town.  I also have his signature on a pin, along with Dave Soutar, Dave Davis (I think) and Mark Roth.

I was lucky enough to bowl next to and actually throw a couple shots with David Ozio late last year in Plano.  I was meeting up with Jim to practice a bit, and they were having a SASBA Tournament at the same time.  He grabbed a ball and thew a couple shots on lanes to warm up... so SMOOTH!!!  and a very nice guy as well.

Thing is, both Ozio and I were throwing a Vapor Zone and while I couldn't keep it left of the headpin, he was just stroking strike after strike.  Best form ever!!!
