Title: Senior Tour this year
Post by: LuckyLefty on June 24, 2012, 01:12:36 PM
What an incredible year out there this year!

Have you seen these averages?  On PBA shots?

http://www.pba.com/SeasonStats/TotalAverage/82

Spectacular, and I've seen others on these shots this year!  WOW.

I am not sure if WalterRay has switched companies, but I know the red Nexxus and the black VersaMax from Brunswick have been been involved in lot of the finals both for him and from some of the other top contenders.

The others I have seen this year looking awesome are Ameletto Manacelli, Lonnie Boresh, Tom Baker, and Bob Learn.

I did not see, Hugh Miller or Mike Edwards.

It will be interesting to see how Walter Ray's senior tour confidence carries over this year to the big tour.

Exciting!

Regards,

Luckylefty

Walter Ray Williams, Jr., has changed companies.........he became a Brunswick Pro Staff member back in October of 2011.

Yes, these guys are competing on PBA shots........but not as tough as the ones on the National tour.

Its incredible to watch in how loaded with great yesteryear stars the senior tour is. Especially, with walter joining the field. Just think, soon Parker, Norm, and Pete will be a part of that field in the coming years. I wonder if the senior tour will be televised and compete for ratings against the national tour. Would be fun to watch! No gimmicks, just bowling,.......... IN REAL BOWLING ALLEYS!!!

The animal patterns have been around long enough that the guys have learned how to attack them pretty efficiently.  In addition, the seniors don't immediately move in and blow up the pattern, like the kids do.

I can always score much higher in a senior field than I can with the kids on the same pattern.

The Senior Tour is becoming the same way the Regionals are...big fish in small ponds. I'm sure they would rather not bowl on the senior tour, but I guess they need to make a living like everybody else.

There is also the fact that the PBA encourages players on the national tour who are over 50 to compete in Senior events. This is done to improve the image of the Senior Tour.

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply it was a bad thing. It's definitely more interesting to watch with the big names.
