« on: February 10, 2008, 02:53:45 AM »
He got 1 strike and so many opens.  It was almost like he gave up or didn't care.  135.

They are calling you a jerk and a loser...does that not fall under "free speech"?

Quit being a little douchebag hypocrite.  You're a troll that trashes players like you are high and mighty...until you've walked a mile in their shoes stfu.

Said Mike Scroggins: "Devaney clanked that ball off his ankle like a league bowler!"

Mike had a bad day. He is human.

I think he threw the ball too hard. May be simplistic, but his ball speed wastoo fast to play outside, and you could not play the shot consistently inside.

Barnes moved outside, picked up a dull ball that read the midlane earlier, slowed his ball speed down, and took what the lanes gave him. Barnes through a couple of shots inside and saw that it was not going to work. Mike kept trying to force his game on the lanes, and it was not happening.

U mad?

Of course you are.  You take this way too serious like I just made fun of your best friend or something when I didn't make fun of anyone - no more than any fan of any sports team makes fun of anyone in any other "sport".  Ok, let's not talk teams since the PBA is individual.  You see crybabies whining to other fans that hate on golfers?  How about tennis players?  How about track & field?  How about swimming?  How about pool?  Grow up.  You comparing me to some pro bowler is what a baby does.  Are you a baby?

You know what is so funny?  I haven't said anything about your bowling and will not.  I never said I was a superstar and will not.  In fact, bowling is not on my list of priorities.  After bowling in college, I moved away from bowling serious and just bowl for fun.  Maybe you should too since you seem to be having some rage issues on your end.

Are we not allowed to talk about bowlers?

Are we not living in the USA?

Are we not free to say what we think?

Bottom line, stop being mean and cursing.  You and a few others on this site call me a jerk or whatever.  Find one time I have ever cussed or made fun of another member here.  I have been here since 2001.  7 years+ of being Mr. Friendly.  You can say what you want, but you can't say I am mean.

Am I mad, not really. The bold and large font were to make a point and make sure you saw it. You say you don't claim to be great, yet you feel you are informed and skilled enough to criticize the bowlers who the TV shows and tell them how bad they suck. You claim to not take it serious, yet you take it serious enough to ridicule the PBA bowlers out there making a living at our sport. Russell hit the nail on the head (damn that's like 4-5 times now I've agreed with Russell, lol) until you've been there and done that, you have no room to criticize.

I used to be like you, thinking that these guys weren't all that good when they shot 140's and 150's on TV. Now I've bowled PBA regionals, not some house league wannabe PBA shot, but true PBA conditions. And these patterns are even tougher then you might think. Even the easiest pattern, Cheetah, can be difficult. The last regional I bowled was on Cheetah, scores were supposed to be through the roof right, well it took minus 45 to cash, and only plus 27 to make match play. Why? Because the lanes we bowled it on weren't condusive to having dry outsides, so it was slicker then a normal (if there is such a thing as a normal shot) Cheetah pattern shot. And guess what, I still shot a 160 game on that pattern, I wound up plus 200 at the end of the day, but it doesn't take much to shoot a low score on any PBA pattern. And Sunday was Shark, the longest, toughest, lowest scoring (usually) pattern. Now that I know what it takes for these guys to do what they do, week in and week out, you'll never hear me criticize someone for a low score. If something is off just a tiny bit in your game, it is so easy to shot 150, 140, and maybe even 130. Maybe one day you'll grow up enough to realize that by criticizing things like this, only makes you look smaller in the eyes of the world.
