I just want to make sure I have an understand about how many games these guys are bowling just to get to the round of 32. I went to the PBA website and that in the TQR, the bowl 9 games. Now to me right now (since I'm out of shape...) that's a lot of games to bowl. Now, if I see it right, only the bowlers who DON'T have exemptions bowl these right?

From there, you go to round 1 qualifying, and that's 7 more games to bowl. So now, we have a total of 16 bowled before reaching the round of 32. Right about now, I know I'd be mentally dead, no if and's or but's about it. But wait...there's more.

Round 2 qualifying, and would somebody please let me know if this is a typo or not, because this makes me sick to my stomach to even think about doing this, you have to bowl an additional 14 GAMES!!! Is this for real?!? These guys have to bowl a total of 30 games, just to get to the round of 32?!?

Ok, Ok, Ok, I know that this is not done all in the same day, give me some credit here, but still, this is a LOT OF GAMES TO BOWL people!!! Even the guys who are exempt still have to bowl 21 games! And they don't consider bowling a sport...bump'em!

Correct. Anyone not exempt can bowl PTQs, 9 games. That's usually on Wednesday.

That's not quite true. The new "round of 64", of which 58 are exempt, 1 is the commissioner's exemption, and 5 are from the PTQs (except when someone's out, like this week where there are 57 exempt and 6 from PTQs), consists of two 7-game blocks. One in the morning and one in the afternoon on Thursday.

The round of 64 is 14 games. To make it to the round of 32, an exempt bowler (and the commissioner's exemption) bowls 14 games. To make it to the round of 32, a non-exempt bowler bowls 23 games, 14 are in the round of 32 on Thursday and 9 are in PTQs on Wednesday.

It IS a lot of games, though. I bowl in a few tournaments each year and usually have doubles and singles on one day and that's only 6 games. I agree, with you that there's no way to not call these guys "athletes". When they've talked to "real" pro athletes like NFL or baseball players on the show, they mention that they have a lot of trouble throwing the ball for even a handful of games, much less 9 or 14 in a day and how conditioned these guys are that can do that.

ptq is for non exempt bowlers- 9 games qualifying
then the field of 64 bowls 14 games(2 7 game blocks) and top 32 make the bracket

When the PWBA existed, there was nothing unusual about 18-21 games on one day. Here's how:
30 minute practice session - 3 games worth
6 games qualifying
lunch break
30 minute practice session - 3 more games
6 more games qualifying
3 games pro am

And yes- by the end of the pro-am, I'd be so tired I'd be laughing hysterically.

After this, match play at 8:30 am the next morning. 30 minute practice session, and then all day match play, no breaks.

No wonder I was no good at work on Monday!!!

BTW - when I was bowling this much, I made my practice sessions 6-12 games long. That made the long days a LOT easier.
