Congratulations, Wes Malott!
I think he executed very well, with few mistakes. Except for his 7-10 he paid very few penalties. I liked the way he went from the Strong Resurgence to the Rival, from one game to the next to keep his line, roughly, anyway.
I think Parker, Rhino and PA bowled well enough to win. Transition was nasty with very few signs that could be easily read. I saw them all make 2 - 4 changes each PLUS ball changes, few of which worked consistently.
** Did it seem to anyone else that Parker was trying to put more roll on the ball and less spin/rotation than normal?

Asking for an opinion Ric,
Do you know if parker tried a duller ball to try and tame the over/under? Just wondering, even though with the look Wes had it seemed he was not going to be denied.

Good telecast glad to see Mallott win, but the Hambone commentary is a little goofy.
Unlike the goofy "60 feet to success" from Dave Ryan. I am liking "hambone" for whatever reason. I think it's because Stone seems real and sincere where Ryan did not.
Love the Malott win. I like the guy.
Wrongsiders have a problem with the transition..gee we never see righties with that problem.

I saw Parker try an Absolute Inferno in practice but from my angle I couldn't tell the line he was playing or if it was more angular than the Twisteds he was using.
-
Big Ego?? Wes is one of the nicest guys on tour.

I would think the Absolute might have forced him away from a suitable area Parker was trying or wanting to play. He knows how he played them during the week and what angle was working. I think part of his game plan was to stay outside of where PA and RP were playing and I think he had a better reaction. It's hard to beat what Wes had. He had a smoother, longer response off the pattern than the lefties, thus increasing his carry area. It was actually interesting to see a right hander have what the lone lefthander generally has.

Ric,
Any idea if Parker was using one of the "Rico" drilled Twisteds today?
Wes did have a smooth breakpoint today with both balls. He did start off with a lot of speed with the Resurgence and slowed down slightly with more of a curve with the Rival.

I had to laugh when Rhino Page said " who says lefties can't move in" his move was in, but the ball was still at or outside of 5 at the arrows
Wes Mallott is a great guy, if you ever have a chance to talk to him, he is more than willing to chat it up
It was good watching Wes have the entire right side to himself

I don't know where this came from. Wes does not seem cocky, if anything he actually seems a little quit most the time. I think people confuse his quit side for arrogance and I don't think that is what it is at all. It seems like everyone who is good at something has to have an ego. I have never seen Malott act like he deserved anything good or didn't deserve the bad. He just seems to roll with the punches and I like that.

That was funny. I was curious where the move in was?

I've never thought of Wes to be a "big ego" or an "overboard" type guy.. Yeah, he amps it up a bit sometimes.. We all do though!
I had to laugh in his first match when he struck in the 6th.. "One time for Motel 6"
