Barnes has choked before (against Haugen, most memorably), but I doubt anyone can say he choked against Norm Sunday. It should have been clear to anyone who understands ball reaction, after watching the two semis, who was going to be favored in the final. When Barnes has to start a TV semifinal playing that deep, and he's going to have to go through Norm in the process, it's not going to go well for him.
And despite what happened to Barnes in the 10th (i.e., moving back inside and striking), I can easily understand why he chose to move out there with Norm. Like Randy said on the telecast, you're not only playing a line that someone is using successfully, but Barnes also had the chance to affect Norm's line. Norm was just too good for him Sunday.
