according to the april issue of bowlers journal international morich signed walter ray williams, jr., to an incentive deal before the season began. by using morich equipment on the telecast he was to earn "a hefty reward". the article also states that morichs incentives are not posted at pba tour stops and morich has signed 8 other unnamed pros to similar contracts. none of these players receive a salary or retainer, must wear a morich shirt or a shirt with a morich patch on it, and a morich ball must be used on each strike shot. any other ball may be used during qualifying.

that may explain why amletto was throwing an awesome flip in the finals...i read in another forum that he was using a cobalt throughout qualifying but switched to the AF during the finals...im sure thats not the only reason he switched but im sure money helps

This might be true for Devaney and Kretzer as well. Maybe Wiseman too.
I did notice that Amleto had the Cobalt Bomb on the rack during the show though.

isn't devaney a brunswick guy??
i've seen him throw UI, Classic Zone both shows he made this year.
-
mike devaney is an independent.

I heard that DeVaney is MoRich staff. They can use Brunswick balls because BWick manufactures them for Mo and Mo does not have any symmetrical balls. If you look at the pics on Bwick insiders you'll see Devaney acting as the MoRich ball rep for Walter.

That isn't Devany that is someone else. Morich has a full time rep out there already.

Also, I heard that PA was one of the guys who was offered the incentive, but turned it down after he discovered how well he matches up with Ebonite. Is there any truth to that?
I agree with Precision. He can throw anything and everything, so why not keep his options open. He gets TV incentives, like most pros, and probably all the free equipment he wants from any company. There's not much to justify sticking with one company, especially one with as few equipment choices as Morich. Don't get me wrong, they're good balls and they even have a few balls for less than soup.
I seem to remember shortly after he left Hammer he threw a DT Centrifugal Mass in Japan last summer. I was excited, because I wanted to see more of DT on TV and I figured PA would be a staple, even if I don't like him that much.

Not all companies post an incentive. Some companies are tough to get equipment from also. Unless you have some sort of contract with some manufacturers, you cant get equipment.

It is a shame the pba charges the manufacturers a hefty sum of money to allow their products on tour. This hurts the players and the manufacturers.
