Weber Out
« on: April 06, 2005, 12:12:52 AM »
Hey guys I just read that Pete Weber has withdrawn from this weeks Tournament of Champions, which starts friday.  Apparently the sore shoulder that kept him out or the World Championship is still bothering him.

His spot will be filed by ESPN commentator Randy Petersen.  It should be a good tourney, because Randy who came in second place in last years T of C still needs a victory to gain an exemption spot for 2005-2006 season.

Yay for Randy, Sad for PDW I missed seeing him on TV this year.  Mark my words right now, he will have a big year next year and will make multiple shows.

Is Pete Weber Going to stick with Storm, or do you think he will change ball companies?  It didn't seem like too many Storm bowlers made shows this year.

I am not sure about PDW but I am sure we will see all ball companys migrate towards new balls to match up better with the new oil the PBA started using. We already started to see these New Generation Reactives that are strong as or stronger than particles but without particle.  Storm already released the Vertigo and i am sure there will be more that will perform better on the newer oils.

Then again, one of the biggest crankers on the show consistantly won with a low load particle (Tommy Jones / BIG Time)

Back on topic, YAY RANDY! I hope that he makes it to the show, I like to watch him bowl.

I'm happy for Randy, but sad for the viewers, 'cause we'll probably get BV for the fill-in color analyst.

He's a great bowler, but I think he's a terrible commentator.

When Randy won the 2002 Pepsi Open, Voss filled for him on the show.  Voss repeatedly mispronounced Randy's last name ("ped-er-sen", instead of "pee-der-sen"), like he'd never seen the name in print (TelePrompTer) before.

Embarrassing...

But if he fills in, I'm curious whether he would offer the viewing public the same level of insight into the meltdown display from last week that he put out on the PBA forums.  Who knows, it might even be a scenario that lends itself to somewhat of an apology for a display not associated with his past actions...

He claims to have said "Ban Sanded Bowling Balls".
I couldn't tell. I watched the re broadcast and I couldn't read his lips. Who really knows? I am not sure.

Read BrunsNick's post in the Voss is on Fire thread. It is the 18th post on the 1st page.
Hope this helps.

WOW!!  Saw calm down, it's not THAT serious.  You're gettin offended like he's your brother or something.  Why not just send the guy a private message, rather then to blast him on this open forum.  Besides if you are really that disgusted with his stupidity, use your ignore button.

For the record though, I agree with you.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard from a poster on here,  Brian Voss is probably not from where your from,  he has an accent just like me or anybody out there.  Thats just the way he pronounces words, do you really think in 15+ years that Randy and Voss has been friends that he doesn't know his name.  You are a realy stupid poster if you think that.  Get off the board if your going to be an idiot like that.

Voss does not have "an accent", and he doesn't have any speech impediments either.

Since you and BV are such good buddies, why don't you just ask him why he chose to mispronounce Randy's name?

Let us all know what he says...
