Way to Go WRW!!!! Another illustration of straighter is greater. 47 titles, 8 majors. And still going strong at age 50.

Your right there has to be something to it. I'm thinking about making that something more to practice on. I know just how Barnes was feeling. To make solid shot's and all you have to show for it is a 9 count is demoralizing. He may have to develop another attack to the hole if he wants to win more consistently. Just my .02 cents.

I believe Barnes strategy was wrong today. At their level it''s more than just bowling their lines. He should have play WRW''s line and not let him use the down and in shot the way he did. He still might have lost but it could have made the score closer and perhaps forcing WRW to split as he did in the first game in the match to determine their seeding on the show. As it was WRW had no pressure on him.

And Barnes is quite versatile. He can play any part of the lane. Xtraframe is still free and one hurries he can catch some matches to see how versatile he really is.

BTW, that strategy is not uncommon. That happened to me in a money league.

I think xtraframe is still free. If they have the commentary up I would love to hear what Barnes would do differently. Since it was only one game match it''s very difficult to make the right decision if that was the issue. In a three game match Barnes probably had a much better chance beating WRW.

Yea Barnes is most versatile. Actually he went through a phase where on TV he chose to play the extreme outside when it wasn't necessary. Or not the best look. It was a few years ago. Remember Tulsa? He played way out with a Action and TJ jumped way in and went front 10? Barnes through a great game but just couldnt get the hits like TJ. The fact is TV really hurts Barnes, no not cause of nerves or anything like that. It's the one game and done. I heard him make some refrence to it today with a golf refrence. If he has more games (such as in qualifying) he doesnt have the Valleys like everyone else. He has his peaks and grinds out games better than anyone on tour. I didn't use to care for him for a few reasons but after having Xtra frame the last couple seasons and getting to see more of him throghtout the week, you can't help but realize his true greatness.

Barnes is very good---no doubt about it. I'm just wondering if he might not benefit from maybe---just maybe---finding a weaker ball and playing straighter, as do Norm and WRW?? Let his natural ability simply be accurate and see what happens???

He has done that. He even went straight up the boards on Shark a few years ago. He thought his best line was where he was. Obviously he was wrong.

Not like it matters, he would have had to have the front 11 to win.

The old man still has it, he sure looked great today twenty one strikes out of twenty four shots. One point they made today was Barnes is very hard to beat in matches where they have several games to play because he has time to adjust whereas one game its over. I'd take Walter Ray over anyone in a one game match and he sure looked like a man on a mission today and as they say mission accomplished.
