World Championship?? I'm confused...

This whole debacle of a season so far for the fans had me scratching my head especially when I learned one of the majors, the World Championship would have the show live but the finals would be delayed 3 months to December and even having it in December. Now if you go to the PBA schedule it is showing as the first tv event on Oct 25? So did they move it? There is no details and is also still scheduled to be on December?
Seriously, what is the PBA doing this season?!

They are trying to save money and attract a larger following by increasing the 'suck' factor. I'm of the opinion its not going to pan out.

The Women's and Senior portion of the World Championships is being shown on Oct 25th.  The regular exempt tour is still live on December 13th.

I'm with ya.  

I believe they have already completed bowling 7 tourneys, with the telecasts scheduled for much later, which makes things confusing, to say the least.

Imagine other sports and sporting events (golf, boxing, football, baseball, hockey, the Olympics, the Pan Am games, etc.) doing this--the general public would be in an uproar, but the bowling community apparently relegated to second class citizenship and shown no consideration or respect.

I'm not a fan of this new format, and I hope it's never done this way again.

I don't like the format either, but if the PBA can show that they saved a significant amount of money by doing it this, then I would have to believe that it will be here to stay....unfortunately.

One of my biggest complaints is that it is just too easy for people to find out who won the tournaments and then spoil it for the rest of us, like the idiots on here who posted the winners names in a post that was titled something completely different.

Oh...well ok.
Here's my problem with besides find out the winners which so far I've avoided PBA.com as much as possible. So thanks to the PBA, fans have lost interest in the players and the tour by avoiding that site.

The other problem is not having the tv show live and having the tournament the days before is following the tournament that week on the site. Now when we watch these shows tape delayed, many will not know how or why these players go to the finals and to me loses the intensity of a tournament.

But most of all placing the World Championship finals 3 months later at a different location is just insulting. The players will lose some enthusiasm why they are there. I'm now to the point where if the PBA is this much in trouble then they need to sell it to someone or people that knows what they are doing or restructure the PBA to become a better organization. Now they are just desperate and if this is the future of the tour then many will just lose interest in watching it.

And the PBA held back a portion of the prize funds until the shows air. Why would anyone want to bowl for a living?

They need to go back to basics. Back to pre 2003 the exempt tour. Could the exempt tour while on the surface is a good idea may be in fact the reason why the tour doesn't have as much money now? Open the fields back up, get rabbit squads back in if necessary. Get rid of the gimmick tournaments and go back to basics. Stop trying to appeal to people that know nothing about the sport and appeal the the people that do. You don't see Tennis and Golf going though ridiculous steps just to get more interest. There seems to be a front office problem and bad marketing that is going nowhere. If you have to resort to the point where you have to tape delay over 1/4 of the tour where is the interest?
