wow... very good round of 8! Honestly can't believe that Tom Baker didn't make the show! Good line-up for the show, and I see the barnes choke talk already started... yay?

Mike Devaney, Chris Barnes, Tom Jones, Mika K.

T Jones just edged out Tom Baker 4 - 3.
Would have liked to see Bakes make a show.

Very surprised that Rash didn't make it.

I can see DeVaney and Jones playing 6th arrow now ....

I don't know if you guys were watching live scoring, but for the most part they seemed like very competitive matches all the way through. I agree, should be a great show on sunday!

I can't say I'm too supprised Rash didn't make it... in all honesty he is not the most accurate guy on the tour, Shark is not all that forgiving, guess his rev-rate finally couldn't hold him up... (no offense to him, he is a great bowler).

I am supprised that Bakes didn't make it, I would figure his low ball speed would favor him HUGE on the shark, Tommy showed some great bowling though to sneak in obviously though.

My thought was that since Rash is a high rev bowler (and a good bowler or he wouldn't be there), his style would favor use on the Shark pattern.

Barnes must be so focused from being so pissed off at himself lately. He's been just short of the winner's circle for too many reasons. I'd bet he hardly says a word onthis TV show, any more than he has to, in order to stay as focused as he can possibly be. I'm still surprised he beat Rash.

I agree, the only concern I had for Rash was if he got stuck in a "transition" kinda funk out there, where he got stuck and had to nail one spot to get them to fall (carry looked like it was bad for everyone, lots of 9's).

As for Barnes yeah I dont think he will say much of anything or show much emotion out there, and that may be what gets him, but I think that right now NO ONE should want to bowl him, he is a man on a mission to prove himself  right now...

Bighook is right ,Rash had trouble controling his shot on that much oil.He did not win a game until he started laying the ball down next to the gutter on the left side. then Barnes went from the Momentum to the Resurgence and won the match.
Mika was the most consistent from start to finish of all eight. TJ really struggled in the first game. If I remember correctly he started with 4 spilts. He could not get that ball to turn over.
I would like to see Barnes win, but I think Mika is gonna take it.

It makes no difference to me who wins.

I think DeVaney can get VERY lucky, Mika is usually very good on TV, Barnes is on a mission, and TJ is ... TJ. SHould be good AND interesting.

You know, I don't especially want Barnes to win or to lose on TV but I'd like to see him NOT make a major mental mistake,
AND
I'd really, really like to see the one who executes the best win. Not the one who trips the 2 pin off the side wall or crumbles the bucket, etc.

I saw the transcript from an interview with Rash earlier this year on PBA.com and he said he does not like Shark. Didn't give a reason but I get the idea he has trouble when he doesn't have some bailout room to the right.

Some of you have it right. Barnes will be hard to beat. He is mad as hell with himself. He want make the novice mistakes this time. If he has carry, he will win because he will get to the pocket, wherever the shot plays.

And most important, he's well overdue for a break.
