Wow I can't believe Pete fell out of the top 5, and Chris sure jumped up there.

Sucks that Richie made the show, not a fan of THB.

Whoever says Barnes has a tendency to choke when it's on the line has something to argue about.

should be a great telecast sunday. i'm glad to see two brunswick staffers on the telecast as well. when someone says something negative about chris barnes ability to throw a bowling ball they don't really know much about the sport of bowling.

Not one person I have ever seen or heard has ever said that Barnes was a bad bowler. No one in his right mind, anyway.

What people have said is that he overthinks himself and makes bad decisions under the TV lights.

I'm not 100% sure of the exact numbers but, in any case, more or less, I don't think there are 3 bowlers in the world who have made more money than he has bowling, in the last 3 - 4 years.

He has to be one of the 5 greatest bowling "technicians" that bowling has ever seen.

I would like to see Smith or Barnes win it!

Barnes is a great bowler.  He just has not had much success on TV.  I think it's all in his head and he has yet to overcome it.  If he could overcome his TV mental issues he would have 20+ titles by now.  I don't think there's a bowler on tour that has a better physical game than Barnes.

I would also like to see Smith win another title.  Here's another bowler that i'm shocked has not had more success than he's had.

I would like to see Smith win it, and if he does not win it, then I would like to see Angelo win his first title.  That being said, no lefties in the top 16 again this week .

Kinda funny..  I was oiling the lanes this morning and was actually thinking about Ritchie Allen..  we had pot bowled the night before and was thinking about THBs and how they think they are the ish.. and then I thought of Ritchie and his tattoo....

neither could I.  he couldnt carry the ten pin over the final six games.  in teh position round against robert smith he wnt 4 pin, strike (barely carrying the swish zonee), ringing ten, ringing ten, and a pocket 7-10.  one of those is a strike, hes on the telecast.

during the week robert used a chameleon, shark, and a green alien.

They must be paying Smith a lot of money to be using the Elite balls.

Three shows in a row for Chris Barnes, something has got to be said about this, the telecast was going nuts when WRW made three shows in a row, lets see if they give Barnes the credit he deserves.

It'll be interesting to see how the Robert Smith does, with his new equipment and all. Obviously for this week it is working out just fine

well i have Smith and Barnes for this week

When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.

Looking at PDW's season so far, I am wondering if it is possible to win the PoY award without making a show? Hahaha

With the new points system, I don't think it's possible.  You only get points for making TV shows.  This (http://"http://pba.com/news/feature.asp?ID=541&Type=0") article says

quote:
2007-08 Chris Schenkel PBA Player of the Year Race
Prior to the 2007-08 season, the PBA announced a new selection process for the PBA Player of the Year award, which will now be decided by a points system rather than a vote.

The top five bowlers in events with a five-bowler stepladder final and the top four in events with a bracket format will receive points. Points will increase for performance in Majors. Below is the breakdown:

Place      Majors      Standard
1      24      16
2      12      8
3      8      4
4      4      2
5      2      1

No shows, no points.  Perhaps a response to Malott and Barnes making a butt-load of shows last year and hardly anyone talking about them for PoY, in spite of being first and second in the points list.
