i am extremely disappointed and upset with the pba for their failure to boldly announce and promote two great events that have happened recently. first, norm duke won the us open and became only the fifth player to ever win the triple crown. chris barnes was names pba player of the year for 2007-2008. both of these accomplishments are career changing events. they are as big as they get in this sport. and yet the pba makes a tiny little announcement on their website. oh well. this is yet another reason i cancelled my membership. this organazation is not going in a direction that i consider to be a positive one.

this post isn't about money. it's about the lack of recognition for a great event that happened. besides, i don't believe i've ever heard these two players complain about money.

In which direction is the PBA going, then? And what direction would be better to head for? I follow the PBA from a distance (Sweden) so I guess that I miss a lot of the stuff going on.

The prize money cut on the National Tour a couple of years ago was a strong negative signal for top-level bowlers over here who were thinking of taking a shot at the tour trials.

But from a US perspective, what is bad with the direction the PBA is going?

Greg,
    Maybe you should watch the TV shows then....both were a big part of the telecast. Chris Barnes was even brought into the booth for aout half a game to help announce and to talk about winning POY. And as far as Duke winning the triple crown....they showed the other 4 bowlers who have accomplished this feat and talked about Duke joining them with a win that day.

jorge300, i have every pba telecast since 1996 on tape. i watch and rewatch every telecast. i'm not denying that it was mentioned on the telecast. espn is in charge of the telecast not the pba. the pba is in charge of their website and the coverage there was pathetic. we'll see how good( or bad )a job they did when it's mentioned in bowlers journal.
