I looked at the payouts for the Kuwait open and see that Tom Hess cashed for $2000 and Ronnie Russell cashed for for $1500.
Not an overseas travel guru, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't get a smell of what they spent in plane tickets/food/lodging. I'm pretty sure guys like Belmo and Fagan have ball contracts and appearance fees that more than supplement, but how are the lower tier guys surviving?
I feel for these guys, I really do, I would have to think they would be better off finding a job in the states (maybe even bowling related) and bowling regionals than being world travellers. Is there something I'm missing here?

It's 4 tournaments in a month after the Masters. Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Munich.
It was 3 tournaments in 3 weeks in December. Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Saudi Arabia.

I get that, but Europe/Middle East costs are just a tad higher than in suburban Detroit.
Are these guys getting supplemental income to cover travel? I can't see a guy making $50K a year on tour spending $5K+ for 3 weeks hoping to make a top 5 to cover the trip.....or maybe they are just degenerates.

There are few enough PBA guys bowling and enough checks that they would have to fall on their face not to get a check. So it's either go there and at worse case break even or stay home and get a job.
