It's the week of the slow throwers. Angelo,Waliczek,Jaros and Muchuga are all still alive. None of these guys really generate any excitement as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully Walter Ray will make yet another show.

i think Norm Duke is the fundamental god.
Actually, if you really looked at Duke's approach & posture, he's certainly not fundamental or textbook. To compensate for his unique style he's become a master in various hand positions & that's why he's become the winner on the tour that he is.

Angelo is a very good bowler no doubt about it but to me he's boring to watch, he's got no personality. I don't think Machuga is the best fundamental bowler either. That has to go to Chris Barnes, by far the most technically sound bowler on tour but I know how all you guys feel about Barnes.

you know someone had to say it...

It's Trabes and Jaros two of the best tossers around and the midwest rules.

I think if Machuga gets off to a good start he will generate some excitement -- he gets a little pumped up and "runs it out a little" when things are going well.

Gotta be goin for Jaros this week. I cannot stand watching Traber bowl.
I agree. I've ran into Traber at regional events and the guy has the personality of an avocado. At least Steve is sociable and willing to talk with you. Plus, I too can't stand to watch Traber bowl.
-
Jaros already has a title this year, let someone else win. I'm pulling for Choogs. I think he's ready to win his first title.
At 72nd in the points list, the guy with the most to gain is Jim Tomek Jr. He's not much to look at, but he's from the Eastern region, so at least he has that going for him.
On edit:
Sorry, I just noticed that Trabes is also in dire straits, points-wise, in 65th place. He'll also be very motivated to win.

I called it here Jaros and Trabes midwest guys. You may hate to watch him but on "his" lane condition can be tough. You guys wish you were that good to make the show whatever his physical appearance or technique.

Jaros is a total class act. Bottom line.
-
And people wish they had the boxing talent of Mike Tyson......doesn't mean you have to like the guy just because he has talent. So he plays the lane straight, who cares, it's who scores the highest that matters, but the guy doesn't exude being a friendly guy, and he is not athletic, at that level I believe you should be, apparently he has the David Wells approach to being a professional athlete, lol.

Chris Barnes the best fundamental game on tour?
I disagree! I'm writing a post in this section "At the top of their game".
I belive he fails in this important area!!

"Best physical game on tour"? Jaros put on a clinic yesterday. For the title, he threw 5 shots that were dead flush. I haven't seen shots that good since Earl was in his prime.
-
True enough leftside. I will agree physically one of the best games. Mentally not so good though.

I don't really play cards and I am not 79, but it fits together somehow.
It's a 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

Hey cpo bee you haven't seen 5 flush strikes since Earl Anthony?? I guess you never watch bolwing when Walter Ray Williams is on because he does it all the time.
-
Of course I have seen Walter Ray, his ability to put the ball in the pocket on any condition, from any line, is amazing. But I always wait to see if Walter Ray is going to carry (remember the 10 pin last week against Robert Smith). As soon as Jaros let those shots go yesterday I had no doubt that they were dead flush. He had the right ball, the right line and just flat executed the shots. What I was trying to say is that I hadn't seen execution like that since Earl. Even with the crankers you always wonder if they will carry, the two shots that Robert Smith overpowered the pins with last week: first was wide and came ripping back, second was in, revved up and crushed. Again with Jaros' shots as soon as he let them go, it was done.
