This years tour...
« on: June 24, 2006, 06:53:57 AM »
After finding out about the new patterns on the tour and hearing that they point towards play from the outside more than the patterns of the past pointed often to inside play....

I'd like to project an outstanding welcome back season for Chris Hayden, a stylishish classic small swing bowler from Florida on the left side and a one time titleist.

Take a look at his scores over the last 4 patterns....

That's what I'm talkin about!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS of course...who doesn't love to watch Richie Wolfe throw a bowling ball!

I remember the first time I ever saw Richie bowl was in a friday night sweeper in VA about 4 years ago.  I knew nothing of his success on tour, only heard he was one of the best players to come out of VA.  When I saw him bowl my jaw literally hit the floor as he made a 34 ft flatter pattern look like a house shot with such ease.  Thing is, it seems like he throws spares even smoother than his strikeball.  I remember him having a young prodigy bowling with him(I forget his name), but he was almost a right handed clone of Richie.

I think this year you will see players throwing lines we aren't used to seeing them play on TV.  Every year though I'll always root for my boy Bill O'Neill to stomp them.  I also think Patrick Allen will once again be nearly at the top of the list in all categories when the season is over.  I honestly don't think anyone on tour throws it better on every demanding condition.

Please don't put Hayden and stylish in the same sentence.

Does anyone know if the patterns they used for Tour Trials are staying? I would hope not.

I've seen Chris Hayden not look smooth and stylish...once.

The day he won...seemed to be dropping it!

But he made a great ball choice and beat another lefty who was pretty good name of Jason Couch!

If they're going to push guys out, here comes Duke and WRW again.

I was thinking the same thing lmao....but I just let it slide.  The 2 or three shows hayden made looked like his axis point was pointing directly as the ceiling as he dropped the ball to the pocket.  More power to him though.  He took a style, perfected it, and now can say he's among the best in the world since he is exempted.  I can respect any exempt player because of the dedication it took them to get there despite all odds, but physically, there are guys that you can look at and say wait....what the hell?  But it works for the conditions, and how they match up to the pattern.  Basically, the pins don't know how you throw it, they only react to entry angle and that's the #1 key in bowling.

Lets face it though the left was a little soft compared to the right at trials.

I agree with you DP3, his game may be hard to watch but hes done well with it. Gotta give him respect.

I remember watching a show he was once, I think it was a Masters, I think it had Jason Duran, Shannon B, Tony R. I just couldn't watch it.

I really hope we dont have a tour trial experiment gone terribly wrong on our hands. At Tour Trials this year every pattern played the same, I hope the National Tour doesnt do us all a diservice and allow this to happen. Scores will be way up. I can see it now, 2 leftys, WRW, and Duke on almost every show. Sounds like a lot fun to me. I guess the Tour feels they have to give WRW his record-breaking title on a silver platter.
