Do Touring Pros Drive or Fly???
« on: February 19, 2012, 10:29:45 PM »
I am friends on Facebook with several PBA employees!  But I notieced today that they always seem to be flying from stop to stop!  Is the PBA paying for this???  Do the players fly to?? I have always assumed that they drove from city to city....If so maybe the PBA should redo there budget and add some money to the prized fund so they can make it a few more years....Thoughts?

Well, when 80% of the tour wasn't in the same place, most drove. Now, they all walk... from their hotel to the wsob

I can certainly believe some of the personnel would be flying.  It all depends on what the PBA wants them to do.  Plus with most of the tournaments at the WSOB, its only a few weeks of lodging and not too far from WA.  The players on the other hand is all up to them.  That's why you have roommates to cut the costs down.  I remember back in the day when I bowled out there for a short time, we went from city to city.  You would hopefully find a roommate to cut costs down.  You were able to pay a fee to have your equipment be on the PBA players services truck so you didn't have to travel with all of your equipment if I remember correctly.

Pretty sure all of the touring players drive now.  The cost to rent cars and move bowling equipment would be too high to fly for how little they make.

I think it used to be a $1 a day for a shelf on truck.    Some of these guys have 20+ bowling balls.
