When did he make the change? I know they make good stuff because George Pappas swears by the stuff, but I would never purchase anything that has any connection to AMF.

15 game qualifier to make match play??
I'm shocked. They certainly don't want the "cream  rising to the top", do they?

Well all I can say is your prejudice against AMF makes you not very bright and miss out on some of the best equipment out there

The only affiliation Global has with AMF is that they own the licensing rights to their bowling balls...that is it.

You didn't look at all the guys that made the cut did you?  A lot of the top guys out there on tour made the cut.  The ones that didn't would have not made it anyhow with how bad there were struggling over those 15 games

At the time I made the comment, I did not look. I don't care who made it and neither should you. What I care for is that 15 games makes it sound like an amateur event, not a professional one. Ask the PBA participants which they would prefer: 15 games or 36 or more?

Well, I wish they would go back to the rabbit squad like the old days.  Take the guys who were up in points entered directly into the tournament(not automatic cash) and have the others try to get thru the rabbits.  I'm trying to remember what the field was back in the day.  I think it was 120.  Still bowl your qualifying round.  Then, exactly what they did.  Take the top 24 and do 23 games of round robin and the last game for position.  1 out of 3 cash which would only give 40 cash spots instead of the current 64 and the money would be better too.  You bowl a lot more games than the current format on tour and really, does allow for more bowlers to bowl.  These "best out of" matches doesn't give the bowlers who bowled best during qualifying a fair shake.  I know the #1 seed having to bowl the #32 seed have lost their matches a lot more.  It's like penalizing the bowler for bowling well in qualifying to have them start from scratch again come these seed "matches".  I was glad how they did the tournament this week.  If you noticed, most of the bowlers who were in the top say 8 going into match play, pretty much stayed there.

That doesn't make much sense unless you live in Hopkinsville, KY. 900 Global is the old Track/Dyno-thane/Columbia 300 bunch in the old San Antonio location - did I leave someone out?

Ebonite owns Columbia 300, Hammer, Dyno-thane (overseas only), and Track these days and is located in KY.
