i didn't see tim mack's name as one of the entrants in the 2006 pba tour trials. is his injured and surgically repaired shoulder that bad or is he realizing that the competition and lane conditions on the pba tour are a lot tougher than he originally thought ? does anyone know what's going on with him bowling wise ?

At the end of February he was getting experimental shots into his shoulder he said he didn't know he would be able to bowl again. Even if he had been able to bowl I really don't think he has had enough time to get to the level he needs to be to bowl tour trials.

I talked to Timmy right before he went to Singapore. There is still pain in the shoulder, but it is improving. The problem is he is still between high 13's and low 14's in ball weight. He felt that in order to compete for an exemption he would need to be closer to full strength and up to 15 lb equipment. He said there was a slim chance he would be there, but he also didn't want to risk further injury just to go for a possible 1 year exemption

The reason he is bowling in pain is 1 he has too much heart, he brings new meaning to give it all you got. And 2 the doctor said he may have to bowl in pain forever.

Wait a minute...someone said he was throwing 13/14 pound equipment.  Is he using that in the tournament he's bowling right now?  If he is, and he's doing that well.....Wow.

Thanks

Timmy has re-tooled his swing to take some stress off of his shoulder. Should make him an even stronger player if he can ever get totally healthy
