Don't know about the guy, but his story IS compelling. Laid off Detroit auto worker turned pro bowler, now world champion.

I guess in big publishings detroit always sounds better than saginaw..lol I laughed when I read that everywhere..

Anytime a tournament is in Wichita I like to see a non-traditional player win.  Take that Gordon, haha.

And to mention he's a very nice guy, and great bowler.. Was a great bowler in thisstate like the Ewalds just made too much money to risk the tour..

Rags and riches are relative terms...going from where he was to being a world champion, money aside, is awesome and has to help his spirits.  And going from unemployed to winning money by bowling, that is definitely awesome.  I hope to see him on TV again, that match against Wes was great.
