I just think you're asking a lot for a morning show to care that much to pay to have a team go to a bowling alley so he can throw a shot or two. The point is to get interest so people will watch the show on Sunday....which I bet they got a few extra viewers by doing this.
It's just like the argument that people say they need to talk about surface prep and drillings on the telecast. The average viewer could give a crap. If someone saw Belmonte strike in a bowling alley but they don't understand the game it will mean nothing. It's just like them showcasing someone who does the luge...if they showed them going 60mph on a track I would think "hey that's great"...but I wouldn't be any more likely to watch than if they were just talking about it and having fun.
The more personable and friendly they make the pros the better. With how much of a joke the game has become from an integrity standpoint we arent' going to win back viewers with striking....people can walk into a bowling alley 7 nights a week and watch someone revving it up and shooting 270....
