Tony Reyes give your spot up
« on: April 02, 2006, 02:39:58 PM »
Confess your a good bowler but not great. Confess you had an average season as usual. Confess you'll never win a title in your career.
This guy is only exempt due to winning a "pull a rabbit out of a hat" event. That's the closest you'll ever get to winning a real title. All those guys that were under the cut and above you are better bowlers. That includes most of all Paul Flemming, who may not have a title either but is 2 times the bowler you are. I wish nothing but bad luck for you next season. I'm pissed Flemming isn't exempt due to a flawed system and the fact Reyes won that stupid event I'm ripping you cause you one of the worst on tour. I'm suprised your even 48th.

so what spot are you in???  Thats what I thought you would say... Getting on here ripping a PBA bowler is a really idiotic thing to do IMO.. Just because you average decent on a easy house shot doesn't mean anything.. These guys are bowling on tough shots week in and week out..

Reyes would "own" you in a pot game, I can almost guarantee that!! LOL..

Is your memory that bad, he made 3 shows last year and made match play in 16 of 19 events.
I am not a fan of his by any means but your post is completely uncalled for.
And my post has nothing to do with Paul Fleming I have met and bowled with him and wanted him to make the cut over others but I am mature enough to not mention names.
A proper post would have been to mention that you wished Paul would have made the cut without talking down about someone else.

Tony's info from PBA.com
quote:

2004-05: After a quiet first half of the season, used an impressive run in the second half to earn an exemption via the 2004-05 PBA World Point Rankings…earned a career-high $83,750...made match play in 16 of his 19 events…swept four matches during the season, tied for fourth-best on Tour…was not swept in a match all season…two of his three television appearances came on the Viper (A) pattern…his highest finish of the first half was 14th in the 2004 PBA Uniroyal Tire Classic, the third event of the season…enjoyed one of the finest five-week stretches on Tour, finishing 6th or better in five consecutive events in the second half…made three television appearances in that stretch, nearly tying his career-high of four shows in a season, which he did in 2001-02…during the five weeks, he moved from 47th in the 2004-05 PBA World Point Rankings to 10th…started the stretch by finishing 4th in the 2005 PBA Atlanta Classic in Norcross, Ga., falling to Norm Duke, 222-182, in the semifinals; it marked his first television appearance since the 2002 PBA Dallas Open, a span of three years and three days…after finishing 6th in the 2005 PBA Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Open and 7th in the 62nd U.S. Open presented by Odor-Eaters, he made back-to-back television appearances for the second time in his career…finished 2nd in the 2005 PBA Cambridge Credit Classic, losing to Tommy Jones, 266-217, in the title match for his second career 2nd place finish…the next week he finished 3rd in the 2005 PBA Baby Ruth Real Deal Classic, losing to Mika Koivuniemi, 194-154, in the semifinals…prior to his five-week stretch, Reyes had finished in the top-15 just once in the first 12 events; went 3-9 in match play and had a 30-41 match games record in those 12 events, but went 12-3 with a 46-23 match game record during his five-week run…came back from an 0-3 deficit in his round of 32 match in the 2005 PBA Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Open to defeat Jason Hurd, 4-3.

He's a wonderful guy. And it was fortunate he got his exemption earlier in the year, since his father passed away and he missed a week or two.

I REALLY like Tony. And there's a few of them out there on tour that are REAL jerks - kinda like BrianCRX90...

you have some nerve man. Bash me all you want, but when you start bashing people like Tony Reyes, you really irk me. I believe Tony made 4 shows last season. So he had on off year this year. He has had some personal issues of late. Regardless, he's a class act 100%, but you, are the class idiot!!

Tony's a great guy and a good friend.  He does a lot with Jr. programs and pro ams.  He gives seminars constantly.  He's one of the most helpful people on the pro tour.

He was fortunate that he gained his exemption (fairly) in a bowling experience allouted by the PBA.  His father passed away, unexpectedly due to some accident.  And with the exemption under his belt he allowed himself the time with his family we all hope we have when times come upon us.

I'm sorry if your favorite hasn't made it....yet.  But bashing someone else that has, doesn't show a good side of you.  If your player hasn't made it, then he needs to step up and do better.  There's still time.  Tony made his exemption the prior year on sheer points, not titles.  So if he can do it, then I guess your favorite can too......right?  I mean if Paul Flemmkng was twice the bowler (like you said) then he'd be in already due to sheer points.  If not then hopefully he'll still make it and be around next year.

Tony is a great guy. I grew up in Daly City watching him bowl all the time. he makes everyone feel like there welcomed. Some guys have great seasons other do ok. But at least there out there. When I make my millions I will go out on tour and make more millons lol. Untill then I'll stick my scratch leagues and winning 10 dollar side pots. CHHHHAAA CHINNNNG

Same number of shows as Fleming made if my research is correct..

Brian obviously couldn't get enough action at the PBA boards so he decided to come over here and start a fire as well.. You might also want to keep in mind the fact that Reyes bowled in two fewer events than Fleming did.. Had Reyes bowled in those events, things may look much different than they do now..
