I smell a Lawrence/Wiseman finals. Any wagers as to how many strikes Rick throws through the nose?

If LAWRENCE can get past HURD .. I think he will win it all .. however .. I don't think he will get past HURD .. JASON is the youngest of the group .. my guess is he will be the WINNER of the PEPSI!

You've proven to be a much better prognosticator than me, Joe, so I hope you're right, but Hurd has some major issues on TV.  Either the TV pair never gives him the ball reaction he had during the week, or he tightens up and doesn't throw it well.  Either way, he's like 0-6 on TV over the past two or three years.

It will be interesting to see if Lawrence has the same shot he had last week, that 10 foot loft onto the 2 board.  If that AMF thing (Justice pearl?) he's using gives him the same look he had last week, he will be very tough to beat, being the only lefty on the show.

Still, I'm gonna say... Wiseman over Lawrence in the final.

seadrive,

Last week, he was using a maximum velicity, not a justice pearl and I am sure he will be playing close to the same shot as he did.. With his game, he can play that shot on just about any of the PBA patterns..

Also, as Seadrive mentioned before, Rick will have an advantage this time around as he is the lone lefty on the telecast..

I am predicting Lawrence will win back to back events (and his 3rd overall) by taking out Mike Edwards in the finals..

SEADRIVE .. funny you should mention LEFTY! I remember last week and I thought it was LEFTY that LAWRENCE was throwing. I just checked my PBA YEARBOOK for 2002-2003 and they have LAWRENCE listed as RIGHT handed .. did he switch since 2003 and is now competing LEFTY? If he did .. that's really somrthing!

Joe Falco,

Rick Lawrence has ALWAYS been a left handed bowler. There is anothere Lawrence in the PBA.

Robert Lawrence is right handed. maybe you got him confused with Rick..

JKISER .. very interesting .. the YEARBOOK has pictures. Since you mentioned it I went back to the 2001-2002 book and there was a ROBERT LAWRENCE listed as RIGHT HANDED with his picture .. YOU are correct!

In the 2002-2003 book ROBERT is NOT LISTED but RICK (and his picture) is shown and they have him reflected as RIGHT handed. I would imagine it's an error in the BOOK! Thanks for the info .. sort of figured that it would be FAIRLY DIFFICULT to convert and be competitive THAT FAST! Thanks again!

ON EDIT: ROBERT is listed in the 2002-2003 YEARBOOK .. I missed him .. Still an error on RICK ..

Robert won the U.S. Open I'm pretty sure.

Yes, Robert had surgery on his right shoulder, bowled some left handed.  300/800 in league left handed.  He bowled some PBA left handed, in regionals he switched to the left side, one time I know of when they were really good on the left, he bowled some match play left handed.

It took over a year, but he had finally recovered from his shoulder surgery, about this time last year, he was starting to bowl pretty well, looking to do some more regionals.  This passed spring, he fell off his roof during some repairs and broke his leg in a couple places.  Think he is still in walking casts/therapy.

He'll be back!
