Mr. Lebowski, this is Bill Salnicker with the Southern Cal Bowling League, and I just got a, an informal report, that a member of your team, uh, Walter Sobchak, drew a firearm during league play. If this is true of course, it contravenes a number of the league's by-laws, and article 27 of the league...

Is Nick not bowling it this year?  I don't see his name up there.

Looks like after the 7th game, Bob Hale jumped up to 10th place.  I just happened to notice his name when going through the scoring rundown on pba.com -- I didn't realize he was bowling in the Tour Trials this year.  I knew he had entered PBA events before, but didn't know he was that serious about it.  I don't actually know him, but I've seen him around quite a bit and he's bowling in the same PBA Experience league I am this summer.  Guess I'm gonna be pulling for him now!

I crossed with Edward Vandaniker, man he throws it nice.  He bowled well, think he missed 2-3 spares, solid, stayed out of trouble.  He threw two different RXS300 today, one shiny, one dullish.

Crossed next to Todd Book, we have mutual friends, but I had never met him until today. I thought he played the lanes wrong, but the next thing you know, he is crushing them, just waited a game or so for lanes to open up, then, shizammm!  He throws it good, solid at the line, strong hand position, made all his spares that I could tell.

Chris Collins scored well, but you wouldn't know it by watching him, he was a couple pairs away from me, grunting, kicking, launched one shot at least half way down the lane in the air.  Then you look over and he is shooting 220 something, what are you the only one that left a split ever????  Jerk.

As far as me, well, they were easier than I made them look.  Had no trouble getting to the pocket.  Carried well at first, but my swing was tight, playing out.  Jumped in after about 5 games, swing loosened up, but my carry was not as good.  Missed 5-6 spares, just didn't bowl well.  Those guys at the top are F'n good, I'm not.  Got some coaching tonight during Shark practice, try again tomorrow.  I will get a detailed report on my blog on myspace.com/strikes4days.

Mike, thanks for the report man. They're really helpful and gives us an insider look of what's going on over there.

BTW, we'll be rooting for you brotha.

Did anyone else notice that former Touring Pro of the 80's/90's HARRY SULLINS was bowling? Holy Cow?! Didn't know he was still around. Mike, if you get a chance, can you tell us if Harry is still cupping the ball and putting some good revs on it?

Thanks!
Ram

I couldn't agree more about Collins.  He was paired with Liz Johnson and a local bowler (actually it was convenient today for me, 3 out of the 4 local guys were within 4 pairs of each other), so I saw a handful of his antics.  The only guy I saw around those pairs who really wacked 'em was Brian Waliczek.  He seemed to put together 6 or 7 in a row every game.
Best of luck to you Mike!

A little late, but I'm pulling for:

Andrew Cain, PJ Haggerty, Nathan Bohr, Steve Elson, and Cory Simmons.
--------------------

Crossed with Cory today.  He shot 100 over the first two.  He bowled really well, the lefties struggled some, either you matched up pretty good, or you had nothing.  Cory threw a Total Inferno the whole block, missed about 2 spares, he is solid.

Crossed next to Andrew Cain.  He also is solid, more hand than Cory, a little nicer swing, but he has a hitch in his timing, think he gets away with it because of athletic ability.  Cain is gonna be on tour sooner or later, good game and good helmet.

None of the other guys you mentioned were anywhere near me.

I crossed with Bob Hale today also, man he throws it like butter, he missed a couple spares, but he's a surgeon!  I like his game alot, kinda like Eddie Vandaniker, who also bowled well today, he throws it great.  Liz Johnson hung in there grinding, Chris Johnson bowled well today too.

Todd Book bowled really well, that guy can throw it, very impressive.

I threw the ball much better today, my timing felt solid, the coaching bits with Ron Hoppe last night helped.  Scores were much lower today, Shark is a little tougher, although I hit the pocket alot.  Once again, don't think I got a single break in my favor today, including a nice 8-10 in game 5.  I did have 4 clean games today as opposed to one yesterday, but considering I was in front of the ball return from game 5 on, using 3 step approach on the right lane, I bowled better, but didn't score well.  Had alot of trouble carrying again, will post more details on my myspace blog.

I thought Chris Collins was exempt because of his tour win a year ago? Am I wrong on that?

Is Jeff Carter exempt this year?

Did Chris Collins beat himself up today? Talk about self-mutilation. For any of you that haven't seen this guy throw a tantrum in person, it's something else.

Chris Collins didn't win any events this past PBA Season. He won his title the year before so he wasn't exempt for next year. Jeff is exempt for the 07/08 season.
