in both sides of bill rowe, i note him to be indeed an acomplished international bowler. but, on tour it is a different situation. yes sweetfeet is right in saying he is(or was) a great international player. but wear and tear on the road combined with diet and not being able to re-coup makes it difficult. example danyck briere did the samething. he went out did about half a season and came back in bad shape and in his general health was poor, because he can't live out of a suit case.
does rowe belong on tour? well he can grind with the best of them at international events, can he do it for 6 months? that's a different story and only he can truly answer that.
players that will come out on top will and always do that. i personally don't think randy pederson does, because he's just like patrick girard, or bill rowe, there own fate rests in there own hands and sometimes in combination with the luck of a draw they face someone they can out play.
if you get someone that can hit the same spot 99 out of 100 times, but can't carry and you have another individual that can create there own area on the lane and a swish zone at the pins to increase carry percentage, then who would you pick?
now your comparing walter ray vs robert smith
this post is about picking who you see coming out of trials, not who we dislike.
my picks from this field, #1 dino castillo. an international star in his own right.#2 Chris loschetter speaking with mark buffa he is one of the best college players in recent history.#3bill o'neill, i've read on this board and in the pba boards that he is a very dominate player on the eastern seaboard.
#4 sean rash, probably one of best college players again in recent history.#5 is a tie. dave arnold, his style will put you to sleep most definately but, he's will always be there. Jon Brandon/aka big bad bully. he is also another player i would bank money on.
