I was on the PBA site looking at non-member tournament fees. Regular PBA is 300, Senior PBA is 450. What the heck is up with that? Are they trying to keep non-members out? Something doesn't seem right there.

Those are some big numbers to get in a tourny and possibly not even cash...

That's about what the Entry-fees are for bowling Majors here in Europe.. Mind you it's an AMATEUR-Tour..
But it's not that different than normal.. ONE Entry on a regular Tour-stop in Europe will easily, meaning most often, cost you between 200-250 US dollars..

Bowling 300 900, Are you saying it's 300 to try and qualify for the tournamemt and then another 500 if you qualify?

I'm pretty sure they count your $300 towards the $500 for the round of 64. If you make it through, it's another $200 to continue. You get it back in prize money (heck, they may even take it out of your check so you don't even have to give them any extra).
I think it's fine to charge non-members more. What's the benefit of joining the PBA if non-members bowl for the same price?

besides its not free to join pba. to get the card its 99 then there is a monthly fee of 12 or 30 a month so they are paying extra.
