Does the match play record matter or is it just total pinfall in this particular tournament?

Pinfall... 30 bonus pins for a win and 15 bonus pins for a tie.

Just pinfall. The only advantage to winning matches is the bonus pins. Winning with a 230 is like shooting 260.
