ultimate scoring championship
« on: November 09, 2008, 12:34:21 PM »
the tqr for this weeks tournament has been completed and true to form the scores were very high. it's been described as the highest scoring pattern the pba has used in some time. despite this, two players who are always being put up on a pedestal, rudy kasimakis and tim mack, didn't even come close in making the cut.

Two of the greatest can't score on an "easy" pattern.

Uhh what? They are 2 of the greatest and they're not scoring well. When did he say something stupid.

You should take your own advise sometimes instead of running around here like some tuff guy calling people names all the time.

I remember reading somewhere that the house Carter bowled that season in was wood with guardian? Is that right? Taylor is different, and while easier than a tour shot, this isn't a TRUE wall. You have can have ten boards at the arrows but if you can't carry what does it matter? Tim Mack averaged 190 this week! WTF!!!!!

Looking forward to his report this week.

I also think the league alternated between 1st and 2nd shifts.

When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.

So much for WRW not being able to score, 252 average for the 2nd block.  Considering he just won a tourny the day before, had to drive over to Taylor, etc...  He probably just sleep bowled the first block

The problem with a tournament like this is that, while the pattern is described as cake, it becomes a carry contest...and if you aren't carrying, you start pressing, trying to force something to happen- and then you get the fun stuff like blower 7-10's or worse, a slight mishap with four through the face.

A couple of single pin spares, a nasty split or two and all of a sudden, you are sucking hind tit behind the rest of the field...kinda like league night can be for some people.

How would you feel if you shots these scores and lost?
Parker Bohn beat up on Haugen Jr. pretty bad.

P. Bohn III     245     268     289     246     232     300         4
M. Haugen Jr    277    267    279    210    279    256       2

LOL, looks like there were 11 300's thrown yesterday, PB had 2 of them and threw another one this morning.  Dang, another 5 in this mornings round of 32 along with a bunch of 279, 289, 290, 299's, I'd say they're having some fun!

It's 'THB' Allen. Typical House Bowler.

If he won, that would be HILARIOUS.

Two of the greatest can't score on an "easy" pattern.

Everyone has bad blocks. Everyone. They have good blocks too. From the PBA web site: http://www.pba.com/news/features.asp?ID=2572

quote:

9-GAME BLOCK
2,367, Walter Ray Williams Jr. (Tucson, AZ, 2004)

That tournament was held on Cheetah, in that house it was an easy shot. That's a 263 average for those that don't want to do the math.

You can't summarize a bowler's talent level or ability to score - good, bad, or otherwise - on any condition based on one block of scores.

The horror! If he won, than all the local hacks in every town  - who play outside the ball - would think they had a chance this week.
