USA vs The World
« on: January 09, 2011, 02:13:59 AM »
How bad is USA going to lose?

Either the shot on the left lane is brutal or the Americans don't know wtf there doing.

Question

Why does the PBA use Cheetah for pretty much everything?

Sean Rash either shoots 250 or 150, rarely anything in-between.  Too bad he had to go and do the latter in this event.

I enjoyed the show, but wow, the USA guys seemed to really play the lanes wrong for the most part.  It seemed like straighter was greater on that lane surface on the Cheetah (remember the guys who did well in the Cheetah Championship also played more direct angles), but the USA team kept trying to move in and hook it, and kept leaving splits and corner pins as a result.

I did not see or read any details.  How were the bowlers selected and how much money was paid the winner ?

Any team without Duke and Walter Ray does not deserve the USA title in my opinion.

I understand where you guys are coming from about the players but they were picked by their finish at the WSOB. They took the top 5 USA finishers, and the top 5 international players to make the teams.

Do it right, line up the best 5 USA players and get the 5 Best international players and lets see them battle it out.

Not some hokey, made for TV show that nobody seemed to care about.

Two weeks of bowling on 5 patterns does not determine the 'Worlds Best' bowlers imho.  Every great bowler has good weeks and bad weeks.  A good week for a PBA pro is a combination of things happening all at the right time.  Matching up to oil pattern, lane surface, equipment, being physically prepared as well as mentally prepared.  This weeks telecast showcased the bowlers that were the best at all those things for two weeks thats all.  And honestly the 'world team' were only represented by a fraction of the great foreign players that are out there.  I would imagine that alot of talented bowlers questioned making the trip for such small prize funds.
