I say look for him to start making a move to the top,  He won't be done for the rest of the year that I know for sure.  His dad wouldn't want him to do that and he knows that.  I beleive he will be back and better than ever with a little extra motivation.

I should just quit bowling, oh wait I already tried that.

If his problem really were the new oils as Randy suggested, I think it would be a mistake to just pack it up.  It would deny him the opportunity to bowl competitively on those oils, to know how they will transition with several people bowling on them.

In reality, I don't think that's the problem at all and I seriously doubt he doesn't understand how the lanes transition.  I don't know what's going on or why he's doing so poorly.  It would help if he didn't withdraw from so many tournaments.  He's definitely not going to win if he doesn't bowl.

Even if he won one of the next two tournaments, he wouldn't gain an exemption, he's already exempt for next year.  He'd have to win the ToC or WC, neither of which is out of the question, in my opinion.

Yeah, I didn't mean physically pack it in - I meant has he mentally packed it in. And not because of his dad, but the apparent frustration that has set it this year. If the tour were on HBO, and Pete could do his thing, he might be unbeatable.................

I actual talked to him at the funeral services and he said he was dedicating the rest of the year to his dad. He said the new brunswick oil has confused him a little and he said he has had timing issues all year. I think he'll use the rest of the year to rethink his game. With being exempt til 06-07, I sure he'll figure things out by then

Twister - good inside scoop. I'm about the same age as Pete, started bowling in part because of Dick and watched with excitement as Pete burst on the scene. Here's to HIS march toward 41..................

I have bowled next to Pete and talked to him and seen what he is doing on the bowling lanes. ALOT of bad breaks for him. Last sunday when they posted the movers and shakers thing and had Pete down for out of the top 40 I think is misleading. Two straight tourneys with no points and I know and most of all the guys out here know that he would have dominated that US Open pattern with ease. His soft hand would have given him for sure a tv berth. Just what i see out here.

Good point CJ. Pete probably would have done real well at the US Open. I hope he's back this week. Bowling needs him.

The PBA website shows that none of the exempt bowlers are missing this week, so Pete should be bowling.
