Walter The Great

What a display of bowling Williams put on against Couch. After losing the 1st 2 games he comes back with games of 248,258,279 and 279 including a ridiculous 19 strikes in a row at one point. I hope he has enough room in his trophy case for another player of the year award.

i agree tonybowls,he is on fire,(2) 279's in a row and 19 in a row,and if he has no room he will have no problem building another one

are you sure couch is on the show tomorrow ? according to the pba rules for determining the wildcard, the highest qualifying player left in the round of 8 who didn't win gets that spot. that would be jeff smith---he qualified 1st.

Actually Greg, Jeff Smith dropped down to 13th by the end of the 18 games of qualifying.  At the same time Jason Couch moved up to 4th.  To determine the wildcard they use 18 game qualifying position, not 9 game position.  SO looks like Jason is the wildcard after all.  Just thought I would help clear out the confusion on that one.

4, Jason Couch, Clermont, Fla., 4,199

13, Jeff Smith, Little Falls, Minn., 4,055

Mika "I Am Lefty's Nightmare" Koivuniemi will trounce Jason "Pudgy" Couch, squeek past WRW, and put a big ole hurtin on Mike "Bugeyes" Scroggins in the final.

three lefties make the show . . . just like the pros were talking about before the tournament started.  didn't hugh miller refer to a "leftie quota" earlier this year, and how the lane conditions are adjusted to allow a certain amount of lefties into the 50 man exempt field for next year????

with lefties in both sides of the draw, there will be at least three games where lefties are throwing, and maybe all four.  will be interesting to see the adjustments that are required from that side.  a leftie having to adjust . . . what a concept!!!

when someone gets so darn successful, such as WRW, there's a certain part of my heart that starts to root for the underdog.  i really like walter, but he's put such a whoopass on everyone, i kinda want to root for the underdog today.

i'm gonna go for an all leftie show, couch -v- horan, with horan the winner.
