Title: Was Chris Barnes.........

.......Rolling over his thumb hole?  After he made his adjustment after the first two frames it definitely sounded like he was tracking over his thumb. Just curious if anybody else hear/noticed this?

Yeah I heard the noise...not sure what caused it though. Heard it on some of Mika's shots too.

I would think they were clipping a finger hole if anything though.

I was at the telecast that day and didn't notice his ball tracking over the thumb hole.  I was only 3 rows back and to the left of the championship pair, tow rows back of Parker Bohn.

Do you have any insight as to what that  *thwack-thwack-thwack-thwack* noise was when his ball was rolling down the lane?  not as it hit the lane, as it was traveling down it?

maybe it was a label on the ball. Maybe not as noticeable live but with the microphones they might have picked it up.

It was caused by the ball tracking over one of the labels. If you are around a higher rev player on harder synthetics you will here this from time to time.

You may just have noticed it when they first delivered the ball because the fans were a little slow as to react and clap after shots were delivered so it was pretty quite when they first set balls down.  Other than that didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.

That was the labels on the ball.  Remember Robert Smith at the Japan Cup.  His ball made the same noise going down the lane and it sounded awesome.
