Shouldn't the ToC be more games?
« on: April 07, 2005, 03:49:34 AM »
If I understand the tournament breakdown correctly, a bowler will only have to bowl a maximum of 15 games to get to the TV show.  One of the things that makes the other majors so tough, at least according to the players, is the fact they have to bowl 40-50 games to make it to the show.  Wouldn't some sort of qualifying for seeding, or double elimination, or some other format that would require more games be more suited for a major?  Even for a standard PBA event the matches are best of 7, not best of 5.

This is a "rewards" tournament. All the bowlers put in their 40-50+ games of qualifying for this tournament by winning a previous tournament,...this is their reward for winning.

Yep. This is a bonus - you have to already be a winner to be there.
