I was going to say WMB for Kretzer, he just changed to something else, but I don't know what.  Didn't seem to work well at all.

Edit: Looks like a S&A with the ball change.

How cool was the little layout lesson given by Randy! I'd love to see more stuff like this in the future.

Finally, something informative and interesting.  They had one like that when PDW was on, about ball speed and playing inside or out.  Way, way better than the interview nonsense last year.  This is what we need on the show to help educate and inform bowlers.

Did Del Just throw a strike zone at the 10 pin?

Is it me or did the 2 balls Randy threw in his "layout education" seem to start hooking at the same point and have teh same backend reaction?

I just didn't see much of a difference.

Anyone else?

Doug, I don't think that the difference was as obvious as they could have made it, but I saw a slightly different reaction.

Yes, and why not?  It's going to grab early and go straight... Pin up with the MB near his thumb I believe.

If Norm Duke can kill the reaction on his strike ball for single pin spares so can Del.

I'm not saying its impossible, but it is unlikely, even for the pros. You tend to see them using plastic for nearly all spares.

2nd one did hook earlier, but it looked like maybe 4-5 feet difference.

I hope Del destroys Ritchie Allen.  Not because I dislike Allen, I just think Del needs to make a big comeback statement, and what better statement than a huge and decisive win?

Predictions before the match starts? I'm goig with Del...his reaction looked much better with the Vapor than Allen's did.

The intention of using a spare ball is to prevent the ball from hooking. This can be accomplished in 2 ways...

1. make the coverstock so slick that the ball will not grab

2. make the ball use up all of it's energy before it gets to the pin deck so it won;t hook

Although scenario #1 is a viable option, why? If you are good enough to be bowling on the tour then you should be able to flatten out and kill nearly any ball on any shot. And also with Del being a free agent, it gives him then option of 1 less ball to carry in his bag.

It appeared to me, as well, that they broke around the same spot.  One with a little more pronounced move to the hole.

Almost makes you wonder if he picked up the wrong ball after the distraction.  Didn't seem to work well, and he's right back to the Vapor Zone.

That's right TJ...he didn't lose today...he got beat by pin carry. One bad ball in 2 games ...not a bad day at the office.

I doubt if any of us has what it takes to have gone through what he has to make it back to the show....

It's too bad Del didn't carry more often in the last match.  Gave Allen too many oppurtunities to come back.  Tight match... and apparently all Ritchie can say is "I'm tickled pink"

Anyone else hear Kretzer say "Bowlin like s---..."    Hello fine!

That was a very tough loss for Ballard.  Generally did all he could, Allen made a good move and that was that.  Could've been worse, he could've opened and then spent the next months wondering why he did such and such.  Good win for Richie, but the pain in Ballards eye was tough to watch.
