Senior Tour- Legends and Ladies
« on: February 13, 2007, 11:51:42 PM »
I got an envelope in the mail from the Illinois State Bowling Proprietors that concerned the Hammer Legends and Ladies event set in a few months in Rockford.  From the way the entry fee was structured, it looked like they were targeting the mailing to the former PWBA members because there was one fee if you were a member at the time of the demise of the PWBA and an extra $50 if not a member.

My question becomes...is this likely a one time tournament or is the Senior Tour flagging enough that someone finally wised up to making more of an overture to the former PWBA members that opted not to join the PBA?  I have not really paid any attention to the Senior Tour and have no idea of whether the PBA ever propped it up enough to address the voices of its members...

I also thought the use of the Hammer name was somewhat nostalgic given the presence they used to have back in the Faball days...

thoughts, comments?

This is most likely a one time event.. Possibly once a year.

From what I heard is that there trying a few stops of the legends and ladies thing maybe more next year depending on the turn out.  I'm looking forward to this because I miss the Ladies event that used to held Cherry Bowl yearly.  As big of bowling community that Rockford is we should be trying to get the mens tour here also.  I'm trying to convince my wife and other local women bowlers to give it a shot.  The ladie entries are needed so please come on out!

I wont be bowling but I'll definitely go watch. I too would go up to Cherry Bowl when the women were in town.
