Match 1: Tore Torgersen - Storm X-Factor Vertigo
Patrick Allen  - Hammer Real Deal

Match 2: Mike DeVaney - Brunswick Original Inferno
Chris Barnes - Columbia 300 Big Bully and Bully? or Formula?

Yeah, I think it was a Formula as well -- that's the first think I thought of when I saw him getting ready to make the shot.

Sorry, but Barnes stuff hit like a marshmellow yesterday,...you think ? Just really surprised at how some of this stuff hit considering his release and revs and such.....just dead flat 10 pins....

I didn't think Barnes carry was that much worse than the others.  They all left some corners, including PA.  The thing that confused me about Barnes was when he changed balls (I think it was a Formula) why he played where he did.  It looked to me like he moved right and tried to play right near that 'hang' spot that was on the outside boards.

Wouldn't you think he would be better off using a stronger ball and maybe moving left?  He is just as capable as keeping it tight as anyone else, so why not?

BTW:  Does anyone know what that black spare ball Devaney was using was?

The reason for a lot of the flat corners is the oil pattern.  43' of oil has a tendency to kill the ball reaction if the ball is a board or two outside.  The best option on this pattern is to move further inside as the lane changes.  The same applies for sport patterns of equal length.  Moving to the outside of the lane will result in numerous washouts and 3-6-7 or 2-4-10 splits.

Barnes, IMO, wasn't deep enough to get decent hit.  Any attempts to create angle by giving the ball more room resulted in further disaster.  Look at the depth Devaney was getting and you'll see the difference.

No he didn't I promise you it was a vertigo, the labels are very close but the true colors are not.  I am surprised they put such a similiar logo on it but I assure you he was throwing a vertigo.

Big Bully continues to prove itself a piece o CR_P on PBA conditions over and over.

Whenter the second ball is Formula or Bully it looked a lot sweeter.

Big Bully just grabs too soon onPBA TV oil volumes!

I wonder if Barnes is qualifying using Big Bully or just switches for TV incentive money!

Boy did that Classic look great in Devaney's hands!

Randy Pedersen said that Barnes found a line which is to the right of what DeVaney has been playing. He kept playing this line although as Pin-nut said, he could have moved inside when his attemps to give the ball more room resulted in weak carry. I admire his game and I am sure we will see him win more titles despite some lapses that he has had on the shows.

"I got balls" do you have brains?  DeVaneys balls were never in question.  First match Orig. Inferno.  Second match Total Ahnilation (not Ravage) and the Classic zone.  Come on man a ravage and a TA look nothing a like.

Well when I look at the show is say Ravage on the side of the Ball. My brain can't watch so my eys tells me. But as you see eyes sometimes lie. So Where did your brain went? So my eye maybe lie to me. So you lost your brain?

Dude the ball was purple had yellow and pink logos it was a TA I guarantee you.  I did see the logo's at one point they showed the ball very close up.  You didn't see the word ravage on that ball.  Also I wasn't trying to be a dick just correcting you in a friendly manner.

Mmike are you reffering to his spare ball cause that is the only ball we haven't mentioned and I am unsure of myself,  Only reason i suggest this is I don't think it was plastic.  But for his strikes his balls were clearly noticeable.  He used the TA first 2 or 3 frames of the finals match and then the classic zone.  As brunsjoe has said these balls can't be confused and Mo does this on purpose his logo's practically cover the entire ball.

mmkike online pics are terrible computer generated and are usually not very close to actual balls.  Even the ball companys own website is guilty of this.  The link I provided blockbuster takes actual pics of nearly all their balls and as you can see there is a difference, some balls more so than others.
