What the Highest Score on TV??
« on: May 29, 2009, 01:36:04 PM »
Ok so we all know that 300 has been shot 20 times now (including Wes 2).  But who has the most honor scores on TV? Talking 290, 300, 299 and so on...  I beleive with Wes' two 300s that would give him 299 and 290... But I know Pete Weber has a bunch of them...

When did Wes shoot 290?  I know he shot 290 the hard way a few years ago during match play (11-in-a-row, then a foul).  There are a lot of 280+ games that no one really keeps track of.  Even the 290+ games are hard to find references to.  Steve Jaros shot 300 on TV, then a 290, a 569, and an 814 to round out USBC Masters a few years ago.

I believe WRW has a 290+ game, as does Mark Roth (I saw that one on ESPN Classic a while back).  Johnny Petraglia has at least a 298 and a 300 that I can think of.

If there's a definitive answer, I'll go out on a limb and say it's someone like PDW, WRW, or Duke, but only because they have so many shows under their belt and have been successful for so long.

Lets not forget Bob Learn Jr's magical night in which he shattered quite a few scoring records.

You're thinking of some other match (that I can't remember).  Jaros shot 245 and lost to Sean Rash's 260+ game.

Setting the all-time PBA record for total pins in a four-game TV final at the same event. Learn shot games of 300, 270, 280 and 279 for a total of 1,129. This shattered the previous PBA record of 1,070 pins, set in 1995 by David Ozio. In the four matches, Learn recorded 44 of a possible 48 strikes.[2]

I don't know if it was TV, but Nelson Burton Jr. once shot 300, 299, 299, 300 once.

I'm pretty sure the only guy to ever go 1,198 for 4 was Tom Jordan from NJ. No one else has ever been close.

why does it matter anyways? Who cares if someone has 3, 4, or 5 300 games on tv? Isnt it supposed to be about titles?
1198 for 4....a number no one in here ever has a shot at getting to. yet again, who cares.

Go kick rocks or something, you might be more productive with your time.

If it doesn't matter why are you concerned about making your post.
