Hey everyone,
I'm thinking of signing up for one of these in my area and I just wanted to know what to expect. If any of you have given one a try, post here with your thoughts on the overall experience.

I bowled in the PTQ at Fountain Bowl last year. Bowled with a bunch of great guys. The only thing that I can say is, know the rules. If you have never bowled a pro event before become aware of the lane courtesy rule (double jump). Make sure you are not using any equipment or accessory that is not PBA registered. Good Luck!

tenten,
I've bowled a few regionals so I know the double-jump courtesty rule. You're also right about the equipment. I had to use black tape to cover the brand name on a crappy $5 neoprene wrist support that I bought from CVS! They don't screw around when it comes to that stuff. Thanks for the input. Anybody else?

These are fun, especially if they put down the shot that the tournament will be held on. Be prepared for a grind, and make your spares.

Gene, if you are bowling as an amatuer forget about what the PBA members are doing. If wont do you any good to watch what they are doing because its basically 2 different tournaments. Even though everything comes from the same prize fund, the amatuers are fighting for 1 spot. Keep your eye on the prize and dont worry about the members.
As far as rules go, there will be non-member meetings on tuesdays. Just pay attention to what you are doing as far as lane courtesy goes and there should be no problems. There is a rhythym to the PBA cross and if it gets interrupted, guys can get a little upset.

Thanks for the info everyone. Hey Jeff, good luck with the remaining regional schedule. I hope you hang onto that points lead and find yourself exempt next year. You certainly have enough game to be out there with the big boys. Plus, when I finally do send in my regional app., I won't have to worry about seeing you in the Midwest every week! Thanks again.
