You can get better rates if you stay some distance from the center. If you want to be close, you will pay a minimum of $80 a night...even pricelined.

There are a ton of hotels on Rt1 in New Brunswick, North Brunswick, and East Brunswick. Check for a Howard Johnson, Motel 6, Ramada, and such, lots to choose from

Gneneral info:
Brunswick Carolier is at the intersection of Rt. 130 (a local road it starts at Rt. 1 and runs South, where Carolier is located.) and Rt. 1.
North along Rt. 1 is North Brunswick and then East Brunswick, as you approach Rt. 18.
SOuth along Rt. 1 is South Brunswick. SOuth along Rt. 130 is also SOuth Brunswick.

Here's a mapquest map of the intersection of Rt.1 and Rt. 130., North Brunswick, NJ 08902
http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=North+Brunswick&state=NJ&address=Rt.+130+And+Rt.+1
This map is adjustable. Rutgers is North and Princeton is a bunch of miles South along Rt. 1.

Just price lined and got Howard Johnson for $ 40.00 a night compared to Motel 6 which was $ 69.00 a night . First time I have ever used priceline.com before, hope it was a smart decision.
